Hulu live dropping Fox regional sports channels

Ugh. I literally cut the cord from ATT 2 weeks ago because Hulu live had everything. I anticipated it would be dropped and I'd have to switch streaming services at some point, but I didn't think it would be so sudden. And it looks like there aren't viable alternatives.

FWIW, AT&T TV Now offers a one week free trial of its $80 package, which includes the Sinclair RSNs. Good for one weekend of games.

I think the easiest way to get around blackouts is to switch back to cable or satallite providers. However the serious cord cutter can download any of the copius amounts of free software that will mask or make private your Public IP address provided by your cable/mobile device carrier. People have mentioned hotspot, it's probably the most popular because it's easy and quick. Google is your friend on this one. Enjoy the game on WatchESPN even if it is blacked out!

No BeinSports or Pac12 Networks with ATT last I checked, could be different now. They all change frequently. I benefit from not being in the Atlanta area as I get all the RSN broadcasts on my Fubo package through the ESPN3’s.

Fubo adds ABC to give them all 4 of the national networks. Not that you need the nationals when they’re available through HD antenna but it’s nice to have them when you’re streaming on a device outside the home.

Sinclair Broadcast Group this week announced a deal with casinos operator Bally’s Corporation to rebrand 21 Fox regional sports networks.

The 10-year naming-rights deal for the 21 regional sports networks is part of a larger agreement between Sinclair and Bally’s. The companies said the deal will “creative unrivaled sports gamification content on a national scale” and “position Bally’s to capture a significant share of the fast-growing U.S. sports betting and iGaming market.”

Bally’s will reportedly pay Sinclair $85 million over 10 years for the naming rights, but the deal is not exclusive; the broadcaster can still sell ads and partner with other betting operators.

Bally’s brand will be promoted across Sinclair’s 190 broadcast TV stations as well as the Tennis Channel and its sports streaming platform Stadium.

For some people coming into the conversation late...
  • Disney bought Fox assets, and had to spin some off.
  • Sinclair—which owns a lot of mid market TV stations—bought the Fox regional sports networks
  • Sinclair has tried to make up for this expenditure by raising rates on cable providers whenever a contract expires
  • It looks like virtually no one is renewing the contracts at Sinclair’s price
The RSNs are a major outlet for baseball, college football, soccer, pro and college basketball, and hockey—basically anything that’s not NFL.

In the background, those regional networks, which used to be independent, have been cutting staff behind the camera over the last 20 years. They may all be contractors now—and everyone I know that works for them is a contractor. For games, the announcers are safe, but other roles are getting cut in one way or another—either entirely, or in pay, or in hours.

It wouldn’t surprise me to see the number of cameras get cut even more as Sinclair finds fewer outlets for their programming.

(AT&T’s contract has not expired yet, so they still have the networks at the lower price. Possibly the same with Comcast).
Does this really matter for us? I was expecting accnx to have all the cameras and announcers. That's what happened for baseball last year.

I guess its only the money sports of football and basketball that are affected.

FWIW, I was able to watch the GT-Ga State game by logging onto ESPN with my hulu subscription (I'm in Atlanta, so was surprised that it wasn't blacked out).

I'm a YouTube TV subscriber and it was blacked out for me on the ESPN app. Afraid the same thing will happen to me for the football game tomorrow tonight.

It’s such a crap shoot. It worked for me on ESPN+ the other night for Ga state but not tonight for Mercer.

I also only tried from the iPad and phone tonight. I will try to use the appletv tomorrow and then head to sports bar if it doesnt work.

I have YTTV with the sports packageand it would come up as though I needed to sign into Xfinity

What’s the difference between ACC Network and ACC Network Extra?

What is ACC Network Extra?
ACC Network Extra is a streaming-only option, offered exclusively through WatchESPN and the ESPN app, that airs many of the games not shown on the ACC Network.

How is it different from the ACC Network?
The ACC Network is a channel offered through your cable provider or streaming service. ACC Network Extra is only offered through WatchESPN.

How do I get it and does it cost anything?
ACC Network Extra is included if your cable or streaming service provider carries ACC Network.

How do I log in?
You’ll need to use the account with your cable provider or streaming service to log in at the WatchESPN website or download the ESPN app for your mobile or streaming device.

Which cable providers and streaming services offer ACC Network Extra?
Here is a partial list of some of the most popular options for ACC Network Extra:

Raycom Sports ACC Network may have been superseded by the ESPN-based ACCN, but ESPN still has to honor the rights Raycom sold to Fox Sports South, i.e., RSN, so we'll probably have to deal with RSN TV games until the last ACC/Raycom/ESPN TV contract runs out after the 2026-27 year.

An online stream may be available from your local ACC RSN TV affilate's web site or its media streaming device app/channel (with a qualifying TV service provider account login).

For example:

Fox Sports Go

Or you can just use a VPN to mask your actual location and watch the ACCNX stream via your TV provider login.

I am actually in Arizona and the family member we are staying with have Cox Cable and both basketball games and tonight's football game are on Fox Sports Arizona. I do hope the Football team will be able to get a win.
