****hole Countries

The economy is good now but his approval numbers are historically bad, it may be that decency wins over $ for once?

When Bill Clinton lied (and was proven to have done so) as POTUS and nothing happened, that's when I realized that we don't care about decency anymore. Like you, I find that disturbing and sad.

Yeah definitely, i’d like to see Sen. Sasse get a shot at him in the primaries. This country is going to be dying for a “normal” boring politician by then.
If true, then God help the next generation...they will surely need it if they think politics as usual (Clinton corruption etc) is what they want again.

What people SHOULD care about is what policies a chief executive brings forward. Otherwise, you wind up with a succession of empty suits in office. They make look good but they don't know what the hell they are doing. That has been the case for 20 years now. If that's what you want, well, please don't drag me into your misery. Just go to some socialist country and you'll be *much* happier.

Move On......

Oh, wait...that only applies when a liberal lies...when a conservative lies, well, let's lynch him!

This is patently false and absurd. No one, even the most liberal person on this board, wants to travel to ****hole countries.

...so basically you are inferring that liberal people are racist because they don't want to vacation in those type of countries?

Now it all makes sense! That is the same logic used by the media, so it must be correct.

Don't randomly (the fact not mentioned by the main stream media) allow immigration of people without means of support into the U.S. and if you happen to use a term or terms that represent the inability to do so, then you are a racist. Got it.

If the current POTUS was such a heavy racist as claimed by many, why did he sign a measure creating a new national historic park for Martin Luther King Jr. in Georgia?

Why did the POTUS sign a proclamation declaring January 15, 2018 a Federal Holiday?

"Today we celebrate Dr. King for standing up for the self-evident truth Americans hold so dear," Trump said. "That no matter what the color of our skin, or the place of our birth, we are all created equal by God."

The full details regarding the Historic Park designation and the proclamation are below that may have missed the information in their media feeds, newspaper, TV News etc.

It a has nothing to do with that. It’s letting people at random from a lottery come here who have no family ties, don’t plan to assimilate, and don’t have any evidence we can see that they become successful Americans. When you have a certain number of people you can choose each year, why would you pick that person over someone even from the same country who does?

Why is this difficult for people to understand? It seems so obvious.

Instead of "country" think about having these folks move into your house and you are responsible for supporting them.

Haiti is like the alcorn game and usa is the clemson game. Both games are played by people made by God..

Still no takers for my 2 alcorn game tickets for 1 clemson tickets.

To make ga tech better we can take any 2 players from alcorn or clemson. By way the d ends for clemson are staying in school and not going to nfl.

We act like the miracle of america is indestructible. The debt is 20,000,000,000,000. Half folks are workers. Half pay no tax and get safdty net. "The Workers" owe average of approx 250,000$ each . Throw in unfunded pensions , future entitlements cost curve and ....

With the coming automation of many jobs, imo it is silly to bring in any immigrants.

I draft the 2 clemson dt s 90 and 4!

Nice analogy :)

I strongly believe we will see something none of us have seen in our lifetime in a couple years - a sitting President gets legtimately primaried.

I sure hope so. Wonder if Pence could do it!!! Or at least someone with the same Defense, Economic, Regulations, etc. direction as Trump.
Also add someone with the fortitude to balance the budget.

I’m an SC guy, so I would LOVE Nikki Haley to do it. She agrees with most of his policies but her attitude and mouth aren’t a ****hole.

[Rant on]

Let there be no doubt that I think that Trump's mouth and thumbs are his week points. It's like he doesn't have filter sometimes.

At least some things that need to be fixed have been or are at least being worked.
- Corp. Taxes - lowered and should help bring jobs back or keep what we have here in the USA
- Focus on a stronger National Defense
- Letting the U.N. know we're tired of being given grief from those that expect our dollars with no strings attached.
- Doing a better job regarding illegal immigration
- Looking at other immigration policies
- removing regulations that are too burdensome so that business can stay here, removing so much BS paperwork, etc.

For those that want higher taxes, please take the opportunity during tax filing season to have any refund to go towards paying off the national debt.
Better still, file your taxes without taking any of the standard or itemized deductions. In essence, prove with YOUR pocketbook that we should pay more in taxes.

[Rant off]

I'd vote for her.

Would love it because then we'd see if all of the "vote for her 'cause she's a women" crowd would put their vote where there mouth is. (I'm betting not)

I will gladly take 100% from only ****hole countries. But only if we vet them first for desire to assimilate, work hard, do they have family here that can help, etc. random lottery drawings from people who are just peasants and want to permanently suck on my wallet? No thanks. We can just send money to them where they are.

Yes I am familiar with the words. Nowhere does it say send me those who aren't oppressed, but win the USA lottery. (Nor is it in the Declaration of Independence or the US Constitution.)

They are a portion of Emma Lazarus's sonnet, "The New Colossus" (1883). Inscribed on a plaque that is attached to the base of the Statue of Liberty in 1903. Her sonnet was, in part, was an outcry of support to the Jewish community and to welcome Jewish Russian refugees in the 1880s.

The original intent of the statue had nothing to do with immigration, it had to do with freedom and liberty.

The original intent of the statue was to give us your folks who are fleeing oppression and we will provide them with an opportunity at a free and successful life. We will give them the opportunity to provide a good life for themselves.

Can you describe this immigrant? Who immigrates here to just leach? More African immigrants have degrees that the average American born immigrant. Nigerian immigrants earn more.

No one is in your pocket more that US born citizens.

So, for the record, you are for completely open borders and citizenship for anyone who can get here?

If not, how would you answer someone who posted that in response to your limitations?

You’re making my point for me – I just said I would take people from anywhere in the country!

The last time I read the federal government’s report on refugees, over 90% of refugees from the Middle East we’re still on federal aid like food stamps several years after arriving. To me it doesn’t matter where in the world they are from, it matters what they intend to do. I wasn’t being facetious, I honestly wouldn’t care if every single immigrant out of the millions or all black or all white or both or whatever or what country they were from.

Your quote on welfare systems in America is a red herring, but I will still address it. At least those people are Americans. With are several hundred year history, especially of racism, injustice, Jim Crowe – I will gladly pay for welfare of an American who is a citizen. There is no sense to bring people here who have a high likelihood that they will end up on federal aid. We will just be taking money that we could be giving to our own citizens, of whatever color they are.

No, and that is a pretty silly assumptive question and I think you know it. I am for a merit based system whose cap is based on the current state of the economy. For example, if wages and working in middle class are depressed and have been for several years, I would lower the cap. If we had a worker shortage and the economy was booming, I would raise the cap. You know, common sense.
