How confident are you in Chadwell, Clark, Houston being the top 3 options for Batt? Is it just speculation or based on inside info?I think Bill Clark could really really do some things here. I have big concerns on Chadwell.
A mix of both. I’ve heard those 3 names the most and they fit EXACTLY what J batt and Georgia Tech are looking for.How confident are you in Chadwell, Clark, Houston being the top 3 options for Batt? Is it just speculation or based on inside info?
I think J batt has a #1 candidate he’s circled as his man. I’m not super sure who it is but I’ll try and guess based off what I’ve heard.
1: Jamey Chadwell
2: Bill Clark, pretty close to Chadwell
3. Mike Houston
That is great to hear. I have been worried we are going to just default to Key or go with some of these other ridiculous names like BOB. Sounds like Batt knows what he is doingA mix of both. I’ve heard those 3 names the most and they fit EXACTLY what J batt and Georgia Tech are looking for.
We don't need retreads; we need a new innovative coach. This is probably the single most important decision weighing on him and we don't knwo who is going to be available. Honestly our best bet would be something like Bill O'brien at HC, Dan Mullen at OC (alot less pressure doesn't have to be liked in the media) and then a DC thats a great recruiter.
Retread is someone who gets fired. The guys listed and being discussed about aren’t retreads. We don't need retreads; we need a new innovative coach.
No, a retread is someone that is basically had their wear and tear and now needs a new surface, such as a tire on a car.Retread is someone who gets fired. The guys listed and being discussed about aren’t retreads.
I went to grad school at UAB because I was working in B'ham and could get my Masters at night.. Let me tell about recruiting obstacles the Blazer coaches have to overcome.Clark would be fantastic. The guy can coach and what he did at UAB is a miracle. Everyone that has played/worked with him loves him. Give him a good staff and NIL and his ceiling could be unreal.
Just think about this stat: Before Clark came to UAB they had never won 8 games. He did that 4 out of the 6 years he was there (one of the years he did not was 6-3 due to covid). On top of that, they dropped the program and within a year of bringing it back, he won the conference (followed by another 2 straight division titles).
None of those candidates fit that definition either lol all of them have won at the highest level at their respective schools. None of them are "worn down" or trending down. No, a retread is someone that is basically had their wear and tear and now needs a new surface, such as a tire on a car.
Any insight into why Batt would be on board with Chadwell if the plan is to bring the entire staff? Seems like someone like Clark could be appealing because he could bring in anyone he wants and isnt tied to a staff currently.I keep hearing Chadwell would most likely bring his whole staff. I think his OC Willy Korn could stay back at CCU to be their new HC. Korn is who you really want to come with Chadwell. His defensive staff is the concern for me, I think you need to give him the money to hire a top notch defensive staff to mix well with his high powered offense. A key thing is P5 experience on his staff, only 2 of his staffers have P5 experience and that was being an analyst for a year or two. You typically want to surround a first time P5 HC with P5 experienced guys, especially when that HC has 0 P5 experience in any capacity which is what Chadwell is. I get him wanting to keep his guys he’s comfortable with and understand. There’s 2 sides of it that I see.
You’re getting confused. No, a retread is someone that is basically had their wear and tear and now needs a new surface, such as a tire on a car.
Remember the saying, if it’s not broke then don’t fix it. That applies to this.Any insight into why Batt would be on board with Chadwell if the plan is to bring the entire staff? I wouldnt classify the Coastal defense as "broken" but it could definitely use some fixing lol. Currently ranked 94th in total defense and 75th in scoring defense.Remember the saying, if it’s not broke then don’t fix it. That applies to this.
I understand the meaning of your signature statement, but my statement would be some have already touched the grass (smoked the grass).thacker is a solid recruiter and i think since collins departure the defense looks pretty good.
i don’t know if we should or if we absolutely have to but i think it wouldn’t be an egregious error to keep him
Not true; O'Brien and Mullen fit that description.None of those candidates fit that definition either lol all of them have won at the highest level at their respective schools. None of them are "worn down" or trending down.
