Tell me you didn't sign, 'cause I'm still sort of moved by your 'my word is stronger than oak thing.'

I have heard he’s got a personal/family situation that’s recently changed. That would be the only factor that could possibly pull him away from GT.

I don’t want to be the message board rumor-mill guy and all I have to go by is the word of a friend (who is a recent GT player) so I won’t be specific, but if it’s true and if he would leave for the sake of that then I’d 100% get it.

Again don’t want anyone to panic since I am confident he will stay. He’s as loyal to GT as it gets. I debated even pressing the reply button on this.

Really I just posted this to say, let’s be careful complaining about money/disloyalty/etc. when 1) he is the sitting leader of this team and 2) none of that has been shown to be in Haynes King’s character.

Another possible scenario that could trigger a transfer would be if Ga Tech "surprised" him (and all of us) by picking up a transfer QB who clearly would be in line to start over him. This loyalty & commitment & love stuff works both ways.
I admit that I don’t watch many games other than the ones that we play but I am not sure that there are any better in the game than HK when healthy imo. You would be talking about a Joe Burrow or Trevor Lawrence kind of guy. Even those two guys might not fit better for what Key and Buster want to do. It may be gold colored glasses on my part but I don’t think there is a guy right now that I would take over King.

To play QB at Ga Tech you gotta be a tough son of a gun and it’s always been that way. George O’Leary had Godsey running Oklahoma drills coming off an injury when the season started just to see if he was tough enough…I love it baby 😂

It’s sad we are in a time period where Philo staying would even be in question…
I agree. Current players making announcements that they are staying is such an odd concept. How do these young people not continue to believe the world revolves around them? I do not blame them.

Insanity that every off season our roster hinges on our current scholarship players announcing they are staying lol

So why do you assume that only Malik and Jamal need to announce they’re staying and not everyone else? I saw Malik’s cryptic post but haven’t seen anything on Jamal.

Great news for both King and Philo! But I'm sad with the state of things... that we have to be on our toes every year to see if we're gonna lose top players to the portal. I guess it works both ways.
