Jerry Preistly. Ok, I admit it, I am an old guy.
I’d say Shawn Jones. Remember SHW put him on the basketball team because the students and fans “weren’t ready to let him go?”
Hard to believe Shawn Jones and Charlie Ward grew up in the same town and played as rivals: Thomasville vs Central Thomasville and then GT and FSU.Shawn Jones was before his time. Tony Dungy once said Jones was one the best QBs of his draft class but didn't get a chance at QB because of his style. If he played during this time of wide open offenses and RPOs, he'd be a star.
the goose is probably who HK reminds me of the most. The Goose.
I'm going with Justin Thomas. Win in the 2014 Orange Bowl and two wins over the Mutts. Since the Orange Bowl is now a playoff bowl - Haynes King will certainly top this if he can get us into the playoff.Justin Thomas.
Kim King or Joe HamiltonNow I pray this doesn't age poorly and King doesn't transfer but based on how he's spoken about Tech and his current NIL setup I doubt he does. Part of why he loves it here is that our fanbase has rallied around him in a way I haven't seen in a while. I'd say in my lifetime, the only two quarterbacks who really connected themselves with the fans were Nesbitt and JT.
I get that some of you are old and I know Lothridge was greatNo, no. I really meant Billy Lothridge.
I don't know what it means to "look athletic" but when you watch him run (when fully healthy), he runs away from DB's, even those with angles at times. We may have had QB's possibly as fast as HK (JT, Joe H come to mind) but none faster on the field of play. I love the Goose and he is in the second tier of all time GT QB's but athletically speaking he wasn't HK. Haynes has the kind of elite speed that scares defenses and coordinators.the goose is probably who HK reminds me of the most.
Similar body types, white guys who don't LOOK too athletic but in reality are studs. Can throw, can scramble. Leaders of the team.
HK has an athletic body now but when he came to GT he was a wee bit skinny. His face also doesn't look that intimidating.I don't know what it means to "look athletic" but when you watch him run (when fully healthy), he runs away from DB's, even those with angles at times. He's a stud don't get me wrong.
