Also who is leaving ( besides thacker) next?

Will the gt all pro nfl star D C stay.?
He has done his part of trying rebuild gt football. Does he want to be a football coach - i think this was his first job. I thought he had business interests. Hope he stays.

Still remember him with choice and gibbs sitting at gt bb game. 2 nfl stars from gt recruiting u was strong. He is our last nfl alumni on staff.

Thacker ain't going anywhere or he would have been the first one fired,

I'm not sure they will hire another coach
I hope they do hire another coach. Not that I see any glaring vacancies on the staff (and I’m not counting DC; if we were going to hire a new one, we would know by now), but there must be some area of the team that would improve from having a dedicated coach. How about a QBs coach? A Special Teams coordinator? A kicking and/or punting coach? The option to hire another coach is there whether it’s a pressing need or not, and it just seems that we’re not taking advantage of every opportunity to increase our chances of winning if we just leave an open spot on the staff.

Augusta- i checked wiki -and google
he was "assistant" dl coach for gruden for 1 season .
Wasnt trying to throw shade on DC as a college dl position coach. Glad he has had pro coaching for a period. He was paid very well while a pro.

My real concern is he might leave gt because of needing to keep business interests succeszful.

Imo, he is doing fine. The ivy kid moves like the real deal. Ivy and white ( if well ) will be fun next year.

There is still one coaching position open. I would expect it to be filled by sometime in January.
Thacker is not going anywhere. I don't expect any further defensive coaching changes than what has already occurred.

Maybe there's still hope for a DC. It could already be lined up, even as we speak. Could be a position coach with DC experience whose team is in the playoffs. I think it makes at least as much sense that the DC position could be filled as any other position. We're still one coach short.

Thacker doesn't have to go anywhere for his DC position to be filled. He'll be retained as LB coach.

I think Collins will run the defense, that is what the rumors have been for weeks - i'm not even convinced Thacker will lose his DC title, but if he doesn't I think he is just a puppet for Collins.
I think the last open position goes to an offensive coach.

So, what's open on offense? QB coach? What are the other possibilities?

if Collins is DC and we are done hiring on that side, the only moves I see are centered around Wiesehan.
You either hire a ST coord and everyone remains the same, with Long coaching QBs;
you hire a TE coach and move Wiesehan to ST coord,
or you hire a QB coach while Long coaches TE and move wiesehan.

You just hired Daniels at RB, key isn’t moving, and Dixon has done a good job with WR corps. I don’t see any moves on the O side without moving Wiesehan.

I think this is it. I have no idea what their pecking order is, but basically I expect one more hire on the offensive side and then adjust the coaching responsibilities based on who is hired.

They will surely hire another coach. Failing to do so would demonstrate inability to lead from both our HC and AD. At that point some arbitrary number of wins to show improvement (i.e. 6-7) wouldn't be enough to change my mind - they would both need to go at the end of next season.

I’m still holding out hope we bring in Corey Dennis for QBs then make the other moves you mentioned with long to TE and Wiesenthal to ST. Not sure why Corey would make an arguably lateral move, but I think it’d be huge for Jeff Sims.
