I couldn't go to the game due to reasons that will remain privy to my person.

Exceptional performance on both sides of the ball. My impressions:

• If you had told me yesterday that Tech would have lost both Haynes and Alexander and still rushed for 275 yards, I'd have said you were crazy. But that happened and it was what won the ball game. Da U didn't have the ball enough to even things up. The OL played extremely well.

• Now we know what we were missing when King was out. He was a tribute to sheer determination and guts today. He was obviously still hurt, but he didn't let it stop him. And with him on the field the opposing D was under much more pressure. We got to the edge a lot mainly because their LBs had to stay home to stop him.

• Btw, I was surprised to see that Tech had more speed to the outside then da U did. Thie rep was always better athletes = better speed. Apparently their advantage is not as great as advertised.

• The other thing that won the game was, of course, the D. Tech's run D gets better every game. They had the Canes one-d'ed by the end of their second drive. And the rush was persistent and effective. Having Efford back made a differences but I didn't notice much fall-off when he went out. The secondary had a great game as well. I haven't seen Tech D hit like that in awhile now.

• I'll end by mentioning Philo. He missed Singleton for a clear first on one series, but he was on the money otherwise. I was especially happy to see him hit his old high school target Stockton for a vital first. I get the feeling those two will be a combo to fear as time goes on.

Well, I went out into the front yard and sang Rambling Wreck at the top of my lungs after the game. My neighbors are probably wondering about that.

Loved seeing how emotional key was during the field storming. The passion he has for this program awesome .
I absolutely love Key as our HC! He still has A LOT to learn on in game coaching decisions, but his passion for this program, the players, and the school is unmatched and infectious! He is both tough and hard on the players but at the same time you can tell how much the players love playing for him. He also knows he is still learning how to be a head coach and really studies the game processes and works hard to get better.

It's true. I wonder if he ever reaches out to Nick Saban for advice. After all, Key belongs to Saban’s coaching tree, and with Saban not coaching a team right now, it’s fair game to tap into that wealth of knowledge

Philo made a few huge throws coming off the bench. Showed some big cojones.

I’m still in awe of what King did clearly not even close to 100%. This is what we’ve missed the last two weeks. He has certain leadership and intangibles that you can’t coach and often only come with experience.

Whole else went crazy when Efford starting pumping up the crowd after his injury?!
