GT hiring former Miss St and Florida DL coach David Turner

I just looked him up. If we’re hiring this guy, it’s a great get. Long history of success on his resume. Has worked with Collins before and was successful in those years. Honestly, he seems to be everything I would want in a DL coach if I were making hiring decisions.

Now with him and Long I’m wondering what the behind the scenes negotiation was.
Who was promised what? Are we assembling the coaching staff to take over if Collins leaves? Did they buy into the Collins vision? Do they think the future is in Atlanta? Is it money?
Love to hear thoughts because this is looking impressive for a sinking ship to get people like this on board.

He was the missing piece. we have the makings of a great staff on both sides of the ball.

I think we lost some talented people but overall improved the staff. It will be interesting to see who is responsible and to what degree in preparing game plans and performing gameday roles.

Ramblinwreck under roster has Larry Knight as DL coach not interior linemen or whatever it used to say so I’d say its safe to assume he gets the whole line now.So I like this hire but I have no idea how the responsibilities are divided on that side of the ball. Technically he is not a position coach so does Larry Knight have the whole DL now? Also how does the assistant head coach on defense differ from the DC which is supposed to still be Thacker? Big question for me now is how will special teams be split up. ST may not win you a bunch of games but it’s very easy to lose games with poor play.
