Primer. Long story short, system has many of the same things we were trying. Rpo, zone running. Uses lots of TE motion, pulling guards. Short passing game is an emphasis.

Seems like about as good a hire as we could make in the situation. We don't really have time to go full change of system to the air raid or something like that unless you were trying to set up a HC in waiting situation. Similar system with a proven successful history at a major team.

Uses similar foundation to CDP, heavier reliance on TEs (which should be nice) and a bigger focus on power running (please don’t keep running between the guards when we are being bricked on the LoS) and has historically been very efficient in the red zone (hallelujah).

I actually feel good about this hire. Not the person I wanted. I wanted Frank Ponce. But of the candidates that where interviewed he was my favorite.

I have mixed feelings. I see some good things but also a little hesitant to get too excited in other areas. Considering Collins is trying to save his job in a short period of time, Long was probably a good hire. Just hope it works well for GT football as a whole.
