Cloudy and low 80's for a nooner - that will at least resemble football weather. Hope it holds.

Of course, predicting weather more than a day out is like predicting CFB outcomes in the early season; lots of meaningless stats cobbled together to look like science.

Jackets open as a 7.5 point favorite vs. the Commodores.

Some other lines:
  • FSU (-4.5) @ Louisville
  • UVA @ UConn (-6.5)
  • BC @ VT (-7)
  • Miami (-3) @ Appalachian St.
  • Duke @ Northwestern (-1)
  • Pittsburgh @ Oklahoma St. (-6)
  • UGA (-7) @ Missouri
Interesting to see how the lines have moved/not moved so far.

Updates
GT favored by 6.5... down 1 pt.

  • FSU (-2) @ Louisville... down 2.5 pts
  • UVA @ UConn (-4.5)... down 2 pts
  • BC @ VT (-6)... down 1 pt
  • Miami (-3.5) @ Appalachian St.... up .5 pt

Duke vs Northwestern is a real tough call. They both have terrible starts but I guess losing to Illinois State only scoring 7 is worse than losing to Wake

FSU vs Louisville sets up to be a great game, with the home field advantage Louisville has a good chance ... I'll take UL +2
Pitt beat Penn State last week, is Pitt for real ... I'll take Pitt +6
Hate to say it but I think UGA bounces back and wins easily vs Mizzou

Let's see where the late money goes. That's always telling to me...

I still can't believe the line on the Miami-App game. App is a decent team and Miami has a new staff, but the talent differential is still huge. I also have more faith in the Rev in games like this than the Tenn staff.

On a couple of different Tech boards over the years I have seen hand wringing about playing Vanderbilt. I am always curious where this comes from. I know that past success is no guarantee of future success but Tech has an 11-0-1 record against Vanderbilt over the last 12 match-ups (going back to 1948). I think we handle them, as well as covering the spread.

Win streaks don't help earn the next win. When I pay attention to Vandy....usually vs the mutts.....they rarely win but also rarely appear to be awful. Usually give the mutts tough games....which leads my opinion of them as decent.
