Opinions differ. So they chose to continue with the single most boring lead character of the franchise?

So they chose to continue with the single most boring lead character of the franchise? Is it still an anthology (not sure thats the word for it) and now they are deviating from that as well?
Me too. Season 1 was by far the best to me. Same for Season 1 of Fargo. In both cases, after that, I had to almost force myself to like them because the first season so completely grabbed me by the lapels and shook me.You're not in for her and s'more old people sex scenes?
I like the idea of True Detective more than the execution at this point. Season 1 will always be the 1 for me.

I freely admit that I get spoiled by seeing a good series and things that are less than perfection I just tolerate at best.Same.
I stay with Fargo for the same reason(s).
that show is awesome. and just out there at timesBanshee, on Max,,, interesting series about an criminal faking to be a police sheriff as he continues to steal,,,,,
Netflix started out on fire. Narcos, House of Cards, Altered Carbon (Season 1 anyways) , Ozark, Punisher, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage. But now it’s soap opera garbage.I’m finally watching Narcos. Who knew Netflix made good stuff?
But all those series went downhill in my opinion. It’s why I started a thread awhile back about TV shows you start but don’t finish. That list for me is a mile long. Netflix has always been kind of soap opera ish. When they started producing shows their business model, which they were kind of open about, was to flood the market with volume more than quality. Every once in a while they produce a gem but it’s one in a hundred.Netflix started out on fire. It’s the last day of “Joe Pera Talks with You” on Max (HBO/Adult Swim). Put as much straight into your veins while you can
Agreed. Altered Carbon should have kept Joel Kinneman. Anthony Mackie suuuuuuucks in everything. No two actors turn me from movies like Anthony Mackie and Jake Gyllenhaal. But all those series went downhill in my opinion. As I started reading that third paragraph, what immediately popped into my mind as a counterexample to the quality issue was Godless.Agreed. Altered Carbon should have kept Joel Kinneman. I loved season two of The Punisher. I have yet to watch the most recent season of Daredevil. It's disney so im sure it sucks.
The volume over quality thing is 100% bullseye, right down the pipe. I will say that Netflix did well with American Primeval. Definitely worth watching if you enjoy brutal, gritty westerns. I have only watched a couple episodes but enjoyed them. For some reason i like one look Taylor Kitsch. The guy couldn't act out a game of charades but i usually like his projects. Peter Berg always provides an adequate amount of cheese as well.
Seems as though they knock it out of the park when they do the limited series. (Godless)
I’m leary of American Primeval. I’m not a prude about violence but I tire of it quickly if that’s the main “well done” part of a show.Agreed. Altered Carbon should have kept Joel Kinneman. I did not. But I may have a copy of it. I started an online book store a few months ago as a second source of income.I’m leary of American Primeval. I’m not a prude about violence but I tire of it quickly if that’s the main “well done” part of a show.
Did you read Mark Twain’s “Roughing It?” Whenever the subject of Mormons and violence comes up I think of his western dispatches.
Don’t know if it’s fair or not but have heard some discussion that the producers had to walk a line. Be honest enough about the Mormon dirty laundry to create buzz and a sensation, but sanitize enough of it to avoid backlash from the Mormon lobby, which is far more powerful than many realize.I did not. I have grown tired of violence for the sake of violence as I have gotten older but i also have an appreciation for how difficult life was during that time period. 1883 is probably my favorite limited series. I am completely ignorant to the subject of Brigham Young so when I finish the show Ill be interested in how accurate the depiction is.
