Our challenge is to avoid a shootout. Miami seems to own the fourth quarter.
Ok I can solve that problem, start the game in the 4th quarter then move to the 1st quarter and the 2nd half can be the 2nd and 3rd quarters.
And yes I started drinking today to get ready for the game

Miami is unlikely to lose a shootout to anyone. That plays right into their strengths. We need to limit possessions and make them uncomfortable. Run the ball, control the clock, get after Ward when you have the chance to do so and hope he turns the ball over. That's really our best chance.

This was our strategy for 10 years against superior teams. Worked sometimes, didn't work others. At the end of the day we need to control the temp. If this thing gets into a high scoring shootout we will get smoked.

Athletically, Ward reminds me of Jeff Sims in a way but is much more consistent, much higher football IQ, tougher, much better passer, and has superior leadership skills.
In physical characteristics only. I wish Jeff only the best in life, but I truly wish he were closer to Cam Ward than he was with us.

AJC article on Coach Key's press conference. Some of his thoughts on "Scheme" below.

“Schemes are personnel driven. You don’t just run a scheme to run a scheme,” Key said about searching for renewed success. “But at the same time you can’t just change an entire scheme in the course of three days when someone gets hurt. It takes time. We used some of the bye week for that, what’s the best schematically for us to be able to do to be able to have success?”

Here’s a thought for your guys. In 1999 Tech lost to both Virginia and Wake Forest with Joe Hamilton, the best QB in the country, and one of the most electric offenses we’ve ever had - and a horrible defense. Both finished 7-5. Both losses were on the road.

Miami’s defense is awfully bad. Everyone is scoring on them. We should be no different. Key is to control the ball and the clock and hope for a chance to win.

"We will go out and compete the way we want to compete."

Hope coaches aren't expecting the mia hiesman qb and thier stud slot WR will go brain dead.

Weekly slogans about flogging the players to play harder and smarter reminds me of my old job. "The beatings will continue till a an acceptable budget is submitted"!

Hope to see Key make real coaching adjustments (extra safety to get better coversge while and u leash dl to go after qb, first gash pass plays to open up our run ).

this is one of the few games where, if we get blown out I will give the coaches' some grace.

Miami has quite simply the BEST offense on the planet.

Or maybe the wrong position more than the wrong sport.
He doesn't like to be hit and why he only would play QB where he is somewhat protected by the rules. In my opinion, he is not tough enough to play football, certainly not at RB, or on defense. I can't see him playing WR either because I can't imagine he would ever stretch out for a ball when he knew he was going to be crushed.
