TFG’s feckless, vacuuous stench has been exorcised.
Why should we let something rest that gives so much wicked pleasure? Why are we still talking about TFG, let it rest now. If some other school wants to make the same mistake as us, let them. He's gone and we are finally fighting the mess he left us with
We just ran the exact offense last night that should have been run in 2019-2022. We'd have done that we'd still have that guy but we'd have won about 12-15 more games over that period and we wouldn't have sunk the program to depths not seen since '79-'81 nor smashed the record for HC futility with that putrid 10-28 record of elite achievement he made us all suffer through.Whoever was hired post CPJ had a major talent problem and roster rebuild that was going to take 4- 5 years. Probability of failure was high.
Yeah, but all the people who wanted Collins said last night’s offense was boring. We just ran the exact offense last night that should have been run in 2019-2022. How long is Collins going to live rent free in your heads? JFC, move on.
Nobody sitting anywhere around me thought last night’s game was boring. We all had a blast after the first 13 mins.Yeah, but all the people who wanted Collins said last night’s offense was boring.
That and also game management and special teams. There is no excuse for poor special teams and Collin’s were the worst I have ever seen.We just ran the exact offense last night that should have been run in 2019-2022. 4-5 years??? That's some serious crack smoking! There was talent to win 6-8 games his first year and build from there.Whoever was hired post CPJ had a major talent problem and roster rebuild that was going to take 4- 5 years. Probability of failure was high.
There was talent to win 6-8 games only if CPJ was HC. We were not going to find a HOF coach to replace CPJ. Further, no one of any quality who could have made something out off the roster was willing to come for how much we paid. It was going to take time to transition away from CPJ's offense and elevate the talent and depth on the roster. Add in the unrealistic expectations of GT fans that we could win 6-8 right away (which is downright laughable and who exactly is the crack smoker) and no wonder we ended up with a fraud. Who else would touch us? This is why CGC was able to negotiate a seven year contract. Our pickings were slim.4-5 years??? That's some serious crack smoking! Bear Bryant wouldn’t struggle today because he could recruit.Give CPJ the same talent and he’ll stand toe to toe with anybody out there. GT had a lot of talent when CPJ was hired and you could easily see it on the field. IMO when Giff Smith left for buffalo our defense really never recovered and that kept us from winning a few ACC championships. In today’s football it’s hard to recruit the top players running the triple option. CPJ record speaks for itself but like other great coaches the game changes and passes you by. Bear Bryant was one of the greatest coaches but imo he would struggle to win today the game is different. Not many coaches could’ve pulled off what CPJ did in today’s football. CPJ had a great career and he was a winner.
Yeah splitting the team along racial lines where everyone on the team was fighting with their own teammates is much better culture than whatever CGC did. Good call.Bear Bryant wouldn’t struggle today because he could recruit.
GFC should have been the marketing director for Bud Lite. I would take Bill Lewis over him any day of the week.
Fritz or Monken would have been bowling. There was talent to win 6-8 games only if CPJ was HC. We were not going to find a HOF coach to replace CPJ. I find this whole argument trite. It is possible that both CGC was a horrible head coach and that our roster was lacking talent to win immediately.
The talent level was much better when CGC left than what he got here. It was also dumb of CGC to not incorporate any of the option offense since that is how the roster was constructed, how the players were previously coached, and what Coach Pat was probably best at running.Talent was there in year one to win at least one of the lost games…
And then once Collins was fired, it took, what, 14 months for Key to take a 3 win program to 7 wins? Rebuilds don’t have to take 5 years.
I disagree, but whatever.Fritz or Monken would have been bowling.
