I am beginning to really like the way this staff seems to be shaping up. Obviously, with signing day being next Wednesday, Key's major focus has been on keeping and adding recruits for 2023. From what I have read, Wade, Faulkner and McKenzie are solid hires with deep roots in our primary recruiting areas. Not much big name splash,but "team players" looking to take a step up in their career. They really seem to reflect Key's no nonsense personality and coaching philosophy. If the defensive staff can be held together that should help provide a strength for the team while the offense gets developed. I am excited for 1) signing day and what Kenyatta and coaches will do, and 2) Spring ball !! Go Jackets !!

I'm not sure that he paid them anything, but the Lions did ask...

Edit - he did pay, but quite a bit less than $10M:

Calvin Johnson actually repaid at least $1 million of his signing bonus to the Detroit Lions when he retired in March 2016 -- much more than the $320,000 NFLPA records showed at the time -- a source confirmed to ESPN. Johnson made a seven-figure payback to the Lions, the source said. At the time of Johnson's retirement, the franchise could have tried to recoup up to $3.2 million from Johnson -- the remaining prorated part of his signing bonus from the contract extension he signed in 2012 -- based on the collective bargaining agreement.

That's the reason Calvin Johnson hasn't had a relationship with the franchise since he retired. For all that he did for the organization, I don't blame him one bit.

Missing the tie in here. You got a HOF player that frequently breaks records and a car company that makes cars that break frequently? Not sure that commercial would do so hot.
