Are you seeing the progress?

There wasn’t much to see today.

At first I thought it was just that our seconday sucked. But these are the same guys who did at least adequately last year under worse conditions. Where I saw pass defense breakdowns today was mostly with LBs and DEs trying to provide coverage. Being there live, it’s harder to see what is really happening in real-time.

Offensively, Yates did alright when he had time. That was very rare. Also, he has the knowledge, but not the arm strength. He also doesn’t have the speed to elude the pass rush.

So, with backups playing today, no, not much progress. But that was one game against a single loss team ranked 6 or 7. Next week won’t look good either. Doesn’t mean we’re not better than we were.
