Gameday rarely worships at the alter of the student: they're about the highlight reel athletes. No matter, GT will hopefully get the recognition it deserves this year for a group of athletes that believes in its system and plays and wins together as a team. If GT can win the ACCCG and make the playoffs, then they will have pre-game specials about 275 pound nerds taking calculus and physics. :LOL:

My money is on it being SC/UGA. Our best shot at Gameday this year is homecoming against FSU. I mean come on... Homecoming? White out? FSU? And look at the schedule that weekend.

Gameday will probably wait on UGA... they have Bama a couple weeks after and ESPN will prefer to go then.

I hope he keeps on talking us down, with CPJ's opinion of Van Gorder(sp?), hope they keep it up. Maybe we can show them our HS one dimensional offense. They may find out it ain't exactly the Naval Academy. We shall see!!!

These idiots should know better. Navy has displayed just how effective the scheme is against them. So maybe they are just banking on us having the same level of talent as Navy. (Not a dig...talent levels have been close in recent history....it just ain't now)

Yeah that sucked. I was watching that game at a GT alumni bar in LA with a buddy, and the room blew up when the ref threw the flag. It was such an obviously bad call and it gave them the game. I think we made up for it the next year, though.

More no news than good news, though appreciate you posting. Only other games with two ranked teams is Auburn v. LSU and Ole Miss @ Bama, so it's not surprising they are considering us too. You can probably guess to a high degree of certainty the five (see below). My recollection from last year is that they were trying to shake things up

Us v. ND
Auburn v. LSU
USCe v. dwags
Ole Miss @ Bama
Stanford @ USCw - probably took a hit with Stanford losing.

In terms of hosting, ND has hosted 8 times (last in 2012); USCw has hosted 10 times (last in 2013); LSU 10 times (last in 2014); uga 3 times (last in 2013); Bama 10 times (last in 2013). Based on that, you'd think we would be the favorite - it's been a while since ND hosted, they are a popular location, and the matchup involved two ranked teams that don't play often.

Maybe as dark horses they are considering Texas Tech @ Arkansas (hosted once in 2006) or BYU @ UCLA (hosted once in 1998).

I was VERY pissed off following this game. They basically gave the game to ND with crappy calls. I remember being highly intoxicated and screaming/talking trash to ND fans. They knew they were given that W and wouldn't even admit it.
