This was why I couldn’t get excited about how well we played against UCLA. We seem to play up or down to our competition. We’re currently batting about 0.250 today against Georgia State.
That's all I'm saying... early season jitters??? Hope so.
I really want to see them get aggressive at the plate, especially when opposing pitchers leave the offspeed stuff up in the zone

Both Halls (listen to audio... in link) seem confident it's just a matter of time before offense comes around. They really should know better than us beer swilling, cat savers, right?

No idea who you are referring to. ;)

I'm trying to get the at the CH bat and will post it if I can.

The offense is usually good. Not so far with a team average .224 but a new coach so we'll see. Their approach at the plate seems more patient. What is of concern is that there are ACC teams we play (Duke, UNC) who have pitching as good as UCLA. But I don't think their fielding is as good as UCLAs.

Considering pitching, hitting and D, I'm most concerned about the in-field D.

Great to listen to Gibson. First time to be interviewed, LOL. He said that Josh Heddinger is an assistant pitching coach who helped him get better. Has something called a fish hook pitch?! Some of the improvement credit may go to him. I remember him when he played for us a bit.

I think we all need to consider where James Ramsey came from. FSU has always been one of the most patient teams in college baseball and it seems like we are starting to take that approach this year.

It's usually on WatchESPN.

Thanks. No luck. Will just listen I guess. I forgot ESPN3 and WatchESPN were sometimes different.

Listening on WREK.

4 LOB in first 2. We are getting our chances but still 0-0. Willingham is doing great only giving up 1 hit in first 2. 27 pitches and 19 strikes. No BB and 3 Ks.

Update: English HBP again!! Walk and HBP to start our third. Maybe break through this inning?

Update update: Serratos gets bases loaded 0-2 hit to put us up 1-0 with 0 outs in third. Hope Serratos gets HOT HOT HOT.

Still 8-0, now T8, but we have the bases loaded with 1 out. Happy to see 7-10 runs per game. We need this all next week too.

In case you haven't seen this @GTNavyNuke

I tried to upload the full length version but it was too big. Here is a link:

About 8 minutes for 15 pitches. That works out to a pitch every 30 seconds. Granted it was the highlight of the game but ever wonder why baseball takes so long?

I have a feeling (stupid to say this) that Colin's at bat will be the event which turns on our hitting game. The team is adjusting to what appears to be a new philosophy of being more patient at the plate with less first pitch what the hell home run hacks. Whether it turns out to be net positive we'll see by June.
