Some quotes for those who can't stand to get through it ...
This originally dates back to last Thursday, when police were called to McWhorter Hall, where a structural maintenance foreman – who had entered the room investigating a water leak – had found a BB/pellet gun lying in the residence belonging to Clay and Rochester. It was seen lying on a barstool in an area that divides the kitchen and living room areas.

While there, they also noticed several BBs on the floor of the hallway outside the room, as well as a BB lodged in a hallway light diffuser, and another located in the drywall. A custodian had also advised that she had “cleaned up several BBs from the hallway adjacent” to the rooms, and in the elevators.

At that time, the estimated damage was broken down by the foreman:
  • $350 for the door to the adjacent room if it could not be replaced, $100 if it could be repaired.
  • $650 to the refrigerator in Rochester and Clay’s room
  • $75 to the light diffuser in the hallway
  • $10 for holes in the wall next to the adjacent room.
At that point, another search warrant was sought and obtained for the bedrooms. It was in the bathroom of what was identified as Bedroom A – belonging to Clay – that suspected marijuana remnants were found, along with a red and clear glass bong and a grinder. The police report states that the “baggie did not contain a sufficient amount of marijuana for testing, therefore no charges were filed concerning this item.”

Could've been much worse and, if they get no significant punishment, probably will be eventually ...

Lol, the estimated prices for that are crazy. How do you do $650 of damage to a dorm refrigerator with a BB gun? Do you just have to buy a new one?

It was pretty stupid, but college kids do stupid stuff all the time. This is actually sad for these two kids.

So much for "random" drug test. Only the Honor Roll players take the "random" drug test. If they really tested all the players, they could fit the team on one bus.

The BB gun stuff with amount to these guys paying to repair the damages, some community service, and they'll be suspended the first game of the season.

However, I am surprised that the police did nothing with the paraphernalia.

Son had a completely rust incrusted and inon functioning bb gun in truck bed. Some one reported it to school police.
Detention for ladt part of senior year and 2000 attorneys fees to get expunged.

His grand dad used to hunt on way to school and leave loaded shotgun in cloakroom.

Feel sorry for my grand kids.

Who pays the attorney bill? Kim is a UGA letterman , one of my teammates. Interesting that he represents all the players. I wonder if other schools have a Team Attorney and if that cost is part of the total cost of attendance at UGA... Because I doubt that the players are paying for his services.

I'm not sure who pays the bill, but I know a guy (HUGE Georgia fan) that used to represent the players when O'Leary was coach. His services were used several times during those years, unfortunately...

Sad our former SA's son has apparently lost his opportunity (even though it was at UGA), but you can't keep making trouble and expect to stay on scholly. Chad Clay was dismissed today after another arrest.

http://www.ajc.com/news/sports/coll...hman-clay-dismissed-after-another-arre/nrk6D/

Clay was arrested for theft by taking on Wednesday, according to the Athens-Clarke County jail web site, and released on $1,500 bond at 7:17 p.m. on Wednesday.

Hope he doesn't just go JUCO-to-SEC. Those guys don't typically learn anything from their mistake(s).
