Montana has hired Bob Stitt as their new head coach, and they are on TV (espn) tomorrow at 3:30.

They will probably not be running his system at peak efficiency because it's his first year, but it's just as fun as PJ's system (in an entirely different way).

His whole concept is that every play has a running check, a zone coverage check, and a man coverage check, so if the QB can accurately read the defense, they're always in the right play.

Super fun to watch if you're an x's and o's geek (@Boomergump, I'm looking at you).

Thanks for the heads up. Reading about him gets me interested to see his offense at work. I wasn't aware it was partly responsible for that big WVA blowout of Clemson in the OB a couple of years back. Steele was gonna be gone from Clemson regardless, but it certainly didn't help to give up 70 points.

The key here as a D is to show zone and bait to their tape tendancies for zone then play man at snap. In other words you need to get into the system and the qbs head early. You have to mask your D. Which is alot to ask college teams to do. But not impossible to scheme for and they can too only learn so much so they will tendancies.

Boy this would be a fun team to perpare against and go up against as a DC. I would love it.

Interesting game so far 21-21 with 3:30 in the first half left.. Kinda shows me why I don't want the NHHU showing up at GT. Scoring doesn't do much good if the other team does it too. I really like watching our guys hit over and over pushing the ball down a few yards as a time.

I quit watching towards the end of the first quarter, although I may pick it up again in a few. My take was that either the QB wasn't a very good passer, or the receivers couldn't catch. Way too many dropped balls.

I really enjoyed the WV fly sweep in the OB. First time I had seen it. Recorded it to spend some time with it to figure out what is different other than the forward toss instead of a handoff. Seemed to have a bunch of guys around the edge, though. Really classy of the WV coach to give credit to the now-Montana coach.

Very exciting game to kick off the 2015 season. It doesn't get more dramatic than that, 4th and goal at the 1 with 5 secs left and a 4 point deficit.

This is very much like the system they run at Ole Miss and some other places. If you have a QB who is at all good it can be hard to stop. I have also heard that several pro teams are looking at this kind of thing, largely because the Hawks are already using some of it. (Problem = they have Russell Wilson and you don't.)
