F16 Flyover & Senior Recognition Saturday at 11:30

The squad arrived at Dobbins yesterday about 10AM and performed a few local "practice runs" prior to landing.

I was at that one and I couldn't believe how slow and low they flew over.

They were in 18's. A tad louder than the 16's that will be here tomorrow, if that matters any.

Didn't they have something akin to a cargo plane at 30,000 ft a few years ago? I remember it being the worst flyover ever and thought they were just playing it safe after that Wake Forest one.

I remember a cargo plane flyover. It was much lower than 30,000, but at a safer altitude than the F-18s. I either a C-5 or a C-17, I can't remember.

I live fairly close to Dobbins/Lockheed/NAS. One of the best parts of being here; all I have to do is listen up and go out in the front yard. Free show (and a lot of pride and thankfulness, too).

Yes, after some years of less desirable assignments. I assume they made it to 20 years.

Thanks for the info. I hated it for the guys. I was hoping the story had a better ending.
