Does anyone know if all of the former coaching staff got hired somewhere?

This may have already been covered. Sorry if I missed it. I know Sewak and Preston retired and one coach went to Ga. State. Any news on others? Did anyone ever hire Mike Pelton the former DL coach?

Craig Candeto is coaching RBs at Austin Peay.
Lamar Owens is coaching WRs at Georgia Southern.
Nate Woody is an analyst or similar at Michigan.

Not seeing that Pelton or Riase got hired anywhere, as yet. Same with Coach McCollum. I wonder if he is defacto retired now, as well.

Last I heard there was some talk of Coach Mac going to Vandy but that did not transpire
Have heard he may go help at a Ga HS that was in his recruiting territory

Wasn’t Pelton gone before the 18 season anyway?

Yes he was, but I remember a few years ago that another school tried to hire him away from GT. Coached at Auburn and GT so I thought someone would have hired him by now. He may have decided to go in a different direction career wise.

Specialist in a narrow field often take a while to get another job. Whoses hiring position coaches that have run our offense? Also our position coaches were low paid yet fairly old. Not rising young stars.

Imo, the sudden timing of the retirement hurt the staff's chances for a smooth transition. Not sure that coach did or could do much to help.

It means we had assistant coaches that no one of significance is interested in. Why did we have those coaches? Some combination of coaching style, pay, and stability I’d expect.
The D staff mostly came from the lower college ranks as they were associates of Woody. Very unlikely they'd be snatched up by teams of "significance," whatever that means. The O staff was highly specialized in the TO. No surprise they're not snatched up by the subset you mentioned, either.

we're doing that now to an extent with Atlanta and Nashville. But it also helps to have an in at those schools, either a coach on the staff or a former player connection of something. It's one reason why Coach Mac has done so well in Tennessee - his time at MTSU enabled him to get to know a lot of the head coaches and assistants. PJ has a ton of guys around the state who have played for him, especially at Southern, who can and do help. But they are scattered all over the place.
Coach Mac is one guy I wish had been retained on staff. Good guy and very good recruiter. There are some good private schools in the metro Nashville area that he was in with.

CPJ needs to go to Washington State and become Mike Leach's run game coach.

The Flex Raid...Air Flex....Air Bone...Air Raid 3O...?

Seriously, this needs to happen. For the good of football and to watch defensive coordinators commit Seppuku on the 50 yard line at halftime (I'm kidding about the last part). Also, I would pay money to subscribe to the Mike Leach and CPJ weekly podcast.

Make it happen football gods.
