Everything I've read or heard about him makes me think the same. While Dodd and Neyland had different approaches they both appear to have been extremely generous, honorable, and shrewd men.Neyland sounds like a guy I would liked to have met. Don't know why exactly, but I would have enjoyed it.
I'm very suprised by how low General Neyland is ranked. Especially compared to coaches like Dooley, who has a fine record, and is a nice enough person, but objectively didn't seem to do anything special.I would have put Bobby Dodd,John Heisman and General Neyland much higher than where ESPN put them on this list.
