Yeah, OSU has gotten lots of T Boone Pickens money and others--guess the donors just like football

He took the job for that so he must have been ok with it and the prospect of a potential raise in the future since they have donors with huge pockets. I would have never guessed that he'd be taking the Illinois job.

Based on some things I've read here & there, the Illinois AD never hired a search firm and did the search himself.

He's the Keyser Soze of college basketball coaching searches.

Well I beleive in god, and the only thing that scares me, is Keyser Soze'.

Sounds like there was some tense stuff at OK ST between Underwood and ILL - is so that would make sense for the move.

Report is ILL is paying more than $3MM/yr for 6 yrs Underwood (was making $1MM at OSU)

Word is OSU promised to pay more if he won and then never made an effort late in the season to even start talking about it.

Ill also will pay his $3MM buyout.

Also note his contract number. It looks like $3MM is the new floor to hire a coach with some success at a name. 6 yr deal as well.

Agents must be really happy right now knowing what they can go after on the market.

Also, Chris Mack has made his 4th Sweet Sixteen in 8 yrs.
Wish MBob had been able to convince him to take our job last year before moving on to Drew, but i suspect some school in the Midwest is going to get a great coach in the next couple of years.
