Short article about Kyle Hilton who is a 2020 RHP / C commit. He's a good fit for GT wanting to major in biology and looking post college.

Yup, not enough yet. We have 8 committed in 2019. Have to see how many show up and are productive.
Good thing (to me) is that 4 are from out of state. That is a sign we are getting into different areas.
I seem to remember this guy Brandon Gold ........... but we need more like Tristin who pitch to start with.

Also pitches so we are up to 3 1/2 pitchers if you count him as a pitcher ...... primarily an OF. But he is still young.

Trippe Moore is a 2020 OF/RHP/UT with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Forsyth, GA who attends Mary Persons HS. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and long limbs, present strength to frame with additional room to fill throughout moving forward. Primary outfielder, sound athletic actions moving towards the ball, fields the ball out front, full and loose arm action through the back working to a higher release point, good arm strength and carry out of hand, made a nice diving catch in live action in right field with a sound first step. Also pitched, deliberate pace to delivery with a hip turn at top of gather, remains on line towards the ball with a full arm action in the back. Works to a three-quarters release point, fastball topped out at 87 mph with short running life, worked mostly off fastball in this look. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide and even stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Full and fluid path through the zone and remains simple with overall mechanics. Consistent feel for the barrel and found it well in live action with jump off the barrel; creates back spin coming off with loft, employs a pull side approach. Outstanding student. Named to PG Underclass Top Prospect List. Verbal commitment to Georgia Tech."

From Perfect Game: They had him at max velo of 92 and highest grade of 9.5. Kid is only a Jr now and his FB has picked up 5 mph in the last year. Great that he a very good student. "Marquis Grissom Jr is a 2020 RHP/IF with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from Atlanta, GA who attends Counterpane HS. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and long limbs, plenty of room to fill and projects very well physically moving forward.
Primary righthanded pitcher, simple delivery with a big gather on backside, gets tall on back and through finish, can incorporate additional lower half and see an increase in velocity quickly. Full and loose arm stroke through the back, plenty of quickness and works to an over-the-top release with some effort.
Fastball topped out at 90 mph with subtle running life to arm side, shows some whip through release and filled the zone. Curveball shows 12-6 shape at best , maintains arm speed well and has plenty of confidence in landing the pitch for strikes up to 77 mph. Developing feel for changeup.

With Marquis, our 2020 class is ranked 17th. Our 2019 class is ranked 9th.
Good thing is that we only have 1 in the top 100 in each class. I say good since most of those guys get drafted. Still, we'll see.
Also, the stronger the student the more likely he'll stay to go to college and learn the game there. Plus, Marquis Sr made $52M playing baseball. So Marquis Jr probably some financial flexibility.

Our 2020 class actually moved up to #13 now. Marquis the 2nd top 100 player along with Parada.

You're right, either they updated or I read wrong. I was starting to get hyped about the rankings and then I remembered the past ....... some of the change is due to class size as shown in the attached pdf. I would expect the 2019 and 2020 class average stars to decrease as we'll probably lose someone to the draft.

Kevin Parada C - 2020 - Pasadena, CA Georgia Tech
Parada made his national mark at the WWBA World Championships in October with a dominating offensive performance and showed that he's ready for a strong junior season already. He's also ways hit but don't forget his high level defensive tools, which include a big arm and a 1.85 pop time.
