Some people have no rooting interest and just enjoy watching the games. Some people think every call go against their team. Some people are level headed and can see when certain calls are being overlooked for one team and not the other.

Then there’s the viewpoint that everything is right in the world and anyone complaining about calls is dead wrong because they aren’t a rational person.

I could’ve responded to countless posts that you’ve made “root4gt”, but at some point you have to quit bending over for the opposition and realize that the officials can, and have made recent games a nonlevel playing field.

Not all Tech fans are irrational, in fact most aren’t. But I will say that the one(s) that constantly beat the drum of saying the rest of us can’t see what’s really happening is unbecoming to the said one(s).
Officials miss many calls every game. Believing officials are biased or influenced by conferences is bunk. Go ask a College or Pro or even a HS School official if they are influenced by bias or higher powers. They will tell you to go stuff it.

Hard jobs that require a lot of judgments. They get it wrong some times. So be it.

GT fans aren’t the only ones who believe the officials are against them. I have had enough experience with officials to know that line of thought is bunk.

We could show a hundred possible targeting calls on videos are less than 25% would have an overwhelming consensus.

It’s part of any game.

Dear Ref,

That wasn’t the point of my post. I merely wanted to point out that you continually stick up for the opponent or the officials and denigrate the members on this board when we call out obvious no-calls or inconsistencies in officiating. It is actually possible to “root4gt” while also realizing officiating oddities. Especially when they become common occurrences.

I stick up for officials for sure. I also realize when we get beat as we did at Syracuse and Louisville.

We had a very good year considering our health. Pretending we should have won when we are beat, well that feels stupid. Enjoy how we are progressing since Key became the HC.

He is building a very solid foundation. And we were 7-6 last year and are 7-5 this year. Real progress. A good team but have a long way to go to be playing for a Conference Championship. We have a chance going forward though.

I appreciate and agree with your positive outlook.

I also find it interesting that you mention Louisville and Syracuse but not the most recent game we played.

Do you think it was a targeting on King which would’ve allowed us to keep the ball and bleed the clock?
Do you think it was a pass interference in the endzone?
Do you think the pass interference was even in question due to the fact that the ball was obviously tipped when we all saw it live and on replay?
These are calls that all but assure us of a win. So I guess we were beat and I’m just pretending these things happened based on your post? Your words, not mine. And you say it’s stupid? Back to my original point of calling you out. Always denigrating Tech fans. Look what’s happening in front of you and stop being apologetic please.

Targeting could easily have been targeting but i didn’t see any conclusive video that proved it was. PI, I did not see any evidence the ball was tipped. Our defender clearly had his left are around the receiver and pulled him before the ball arrived. That play gets called 60% of the time so it could have been a no call. Key said both plays were reviewed. For Targeting and to see if the ball was tipped.

Did you see 100% evidence the ball was tipped? Did you see 100% evidence that Targeting occurred? Or did you see what you firmly believe happened on both plays. There is a huge difference. To change a call on the field there really needs to be 100% evidence that the call was wrong.

Of course on Targeting every call is simply the opinion of a review official. There is no consistency or standard, only someone’s opinion.

My opinion

Both calls warranted a full review. For Key to say he didn’t think they would be overturned based on the officials we had was telling. Just because they didn’t talk about it on the broadcast doesn’t mean we didn’t all see what happened, and just because the upstairs review team gave it a quick look before the play clock ran out doesn’t mean much to me either. I’m 100% confident on both calls. Because I saw them both live and on replays, which the booth had access to both. Still shots after the game reflect what I’m saying. Look it up.

Post if you want. I saw the videos differently.

Wow, two great games tonight. SMU had a great comeback until they gagged free the tying score with 16 seconds. Props to the Clemson FG kicker for making a 56 yard walk off FG.
