He was not retained by Coach Chad Lunsford after the previous head coach was fired, and came back to be a defensive quality control analyst for Georgia Tech

Somehow I missed that. Thanks. Kinda strange that he's now on staff as a defensive quality control analyst, although when he was at GT in the early 2000's as a GA he worked on the defensive side with CJT.

If we could somehow keep a strand of real option football to go along with the "pro" "style" offense, that would be intriguing. Otherwise, I'm pretty pessimistic about the offense going forward. Although, I'm not sure how successful the real option part could be without full (or at least very significant) commitment to it. Perhaps the use of other offensive schemes could keep the defense off-balance enough for us to be able to run it successfully without that full commitment/adeptness.

Temples OC had a difficult time with QB’s and injuries to running backs so it’s not all on him concerning the offensive difficulties. Both years they started slow but finished strong.

GT is stocked at every position except TE. There is talent on the roster and if this class comes strong then they’ll be more talent coming particularly at the skills position.

As long as it’s a run heavy approach the offense should be fine.

Did Coach Collins say “... early signing day” in his interview linked above?

When I asked my question, I was actually thinking about the official final signing day when players sign their LOIs (letters of intent).

Pretty sure he means the early signing day.

Huh? So, they don't sign their LOIs on the 19th?

I think early signing day is for those who decide to go ahead and sign early, while others who haven’t decided by then can wait until the February (final) signing day. I think the LOI is valid for both dates.

If I’m wrong, perhaps someone who knows can please correct me.

I am curious as to why you just can’t sign anytime in between those dates also?

I’m shocked to see you say GT is stocked, but I’m glad you did bc it’s true. I’m really excited Carter and Camp. Carter is true #1 to me and will shine. Prayer for 2 plug and play OT to help and push Quinney and Smith development

I think DeFoor can shore up the OT spot with Quinney although there is going to be growing pains.

If you look at back, WR, aback (which are wr/rbacks) & qb, then GT is 3 deep at every position.

Running back & WR will be a dog fight.

Shotgun diamond formation possibility:

QB: TO/JG/LJ
RB1: Benson
RB2: Mason
RB3: Howard
WR1: Carter
WR2: Camp

Whoever comes in as OC would do well to ride that lineup for 300+ rushing yards per game. All three of those backs have shown the ability to catch, as well.

That lineup, or one in which you put Gantt or Jarrett in at the RB spots, would be easy to break the huddle with, then shuffle everyone but Howard out to WR.
