It was a negotiation. That doesn't mean that everyone agrees that it's right or is defending it. There is absolutely no question that the SEC and B1G bullied their way through to get a bigger share. Do they deserve it? Maybe. But, I'm afraid this is going to set up the CFP polls to lean toward the SEC/B1G because of that. We'll see how it plays out.
It’s all in The Narrative. That has been carefully crafted for years and years with the explicit help of sEcSPN. Is it because they like the SEC better? Not necessarily. It is because their hordes, who base their identity largely on the football team, will pay almost any amount to see them. There’s a reason that 11 of the top 26 largest college football stadiums are SEC (another 8 are B1G). It’s money, and sEcSPN can make more money riding the SEC than any other conference.

Yep. The polls have been cooked for decades to create the leverage that led to this. The SEC/BIG are good at business. Now, we’ll see the polls even more skewed since the top 12 then 14 matter. The days of the polls allowing a Boise, C8ncy, or GT to slide into the top 10 are over. They’ll keep everyone but their own outside the top 15 and use the same arguments they have used to keep them out of the top 4. The ACC won’t sniff a 2nd team anywhere near 12 this upcoming year. The real difference those who pay attention will see is the disparity in how far teams drop when they lose. Ole Miss will lose and drop 3-4 spots. Clemson will lose and drop 8plus. Then positioning will be a game unto itself from early October to Thanksgiving.

Sadly, I suspect so.

ESPN gets 5 Notre Dame games a year when they play ACC opponents. That drives our TV value up. While it's a unique arrangement, it works in our favor as we can guarantee ESPN those games on a yearly basis.
Except some of those are at Notre Dame so NBC gets those games right?

So on average, two to three games a year.

ND doesn’t have to join a conference because they have the magic word - leverage. They have a national fanbase so they don’t have to play the same game everyone else does. They have their own network because they are a bigger brand than anyone else. You, me, and others may not like it but thats the simple fact. They created their history and they are using it to their advantage as they should.
