Is Coach Hall's contract up this year (2016)?
See lots of "get rid of him" talk in this forum. Never followed up with any idea what an intelligent choice/transition would be. Something more specific than the standard young, energetic up & comer who is an outstanding recruiter. That's how all successful young coaches look on paper.

I'm in way over my head to offer good ideas(not tuned into collegiate baseball coaching or programs). But I'm curious if those screaming fire the guy have a plan in mind beyond that.

Bobinski would have to have a plan. He has a baseball background. Is that good?

I would only hope we can manage it in such a way to see no falloff before achieving improvement in recruiting or performance. I know that's probably a lot to ask.

I'm proud of our baseball team's sustained superior performance over the last 35+ years with 2 Hall of Fame coaches (Morris & Hall).

Is there a HOF for college baseball coaches??
I think we have under performed under Danny Hall.

Hall has made the NCAA's in something like 20 times in 23 years. However, Tech usually gets bounced out in the first round and under-performs when they are the #1 seed. It would be hard to justify his firing, but do we as Tech fans just want to qualify or do we want to be something special? I believe that most Tech fans are satisfied to "just qualify" like we are happy to have a 7-5 record in football, and believe that paul johnson is the best that we can do.

To qualify as a fan, you should attend a few games a year if you live in the area. Coach Johnson and Coach Hall coach at the hardest school in the country to win in sports. Be thankful they are interested in this challenge. We are blessed to have them.

Baseball at Tech is the easy sale. Recruiting isn't a problem. Tech is well represented in the majors. There is no legit reason why we are not fighting for national seed. This program was and can be again an elite program. We need more focus.

As I stated above, if you don't attend the games you don't deserve a vote. CDH is not perfect, but he has an outstanding record. We have another good recruiting class already signed, and hopefully will have Hughes and English as two of our starters next year. If we had been able to pitch them this year we may have been a National Seed.
Some of you guys are out to get rid of established Coaches. Well, I am now a Senior citizen and really resent people who don't respect their elders. Just because they don't keep their eyes focused on an iPhone doesn't mean they are stupid.

Next year's pitching staff should be better next year barring injuries and assuming improvement from returning guys. English and Hughes have the talent to be weekend starters. Gibson and Dulaney have proven at times they are legitimate ACC pitchers. Datoc, Combs, Carpenter, and Gauvreau have been effective at times (Combs had been really good in limited chances). Then there's a chance that Gold, Gorst, and Parr all return. Throw in a few of the incoming freshmen who appear to be pretty talented as well and our pitching next year COULD be really good. And I almost forgot King who might return based on whatever his injury is. Of course, it seems we feel this way at the end of every season...

Your last sentence says it all. If, maybe, there's a chance, injuries, and the all dreaded next year. Mirror meet tech baseball, you are what your record says you are. That is below avg. If you like that, stick with the status quo.

This isn't the first year of this, so remember that when replying. We've been is steady decline for years now.

I can't get to Atlanta as often as I would like so therfore I haven't been to a Falcons or braves or Hawks game in a few years, so does that mean I've got right to an opinion on how they perform? That's idiotic.

I don't attend filming of Game Of Thrones, but Ramsey Snow should die slowly.

My comment was aimed at people who live in the Metro area who don't attend games. I feel that some of our most negative fans don't even watch the games on TV. One guy even commented on Hall's inability at Coaching 3rd base, when he has been in the dugout for maybe ten years.

Some (stupid or not) will say or use anything to hate on our coach. I've heard our recruiting is not up to par but it's hard to recruit some of these kids your recruiting when they get drafted with the potential of making big money versus some may take a little more time to develop and go to college. You win some and lose some.

It's tough. We've won the ACC several times but have we played a super regional in the last 10 yrs?
