I think we should consider a successful mid-major coach. Price and Salley are my all-time GT favorite players. But, I would like to get a coach with D1 experience. Noodles is a different question.

There is a danger in insisting it has to be a "Tech" guy. I love Mark Price, but Michigan fans loved Brady Hoke also.

Former players aren't always the answer, look at Matt Doherty and UNC outcome.

Clyde Drexler and Houston is another good example of an alum gone wrong.

There are probably more examples of alum not doing well then the Fred Hoiberg example.
I am not opposed to Mark, but if we come to this point the most important thing is to find the right coach, whether they have ties to GT or not is not important.

On top of all that's been said, Craig Neal is s far superior candidate than Price anyway. Too bad about his son suffering a potential season-ending ankle injury, btw. Hope he makes it back sooner.
