Brent Key expected to join Georgia Tech staff

I think that says more about what Clemson and georgia have done than what we have. For a while there we stagnated in the athletic department (despite warnings from CPJ that this was a problem), while Clemson and georgia and the rest of college football got into an arms race. Closing that spending gap would have fixed a lot of issues, regardless of the coach.

Many of us have said the same thing. A few posters cling to their narrative that it was all CPJ / scheme to blame.
Collins will hopefully benefit from the renewed infusion of $$$, regardless of whether Keys comes aboard or not.

No, I would rather Ken be able to do his job if he is going to continue being the beat writer. Doubt it happened like that. You cant expect a reporter to hold off on a big scoop unless people's lives or national security is at stake. Probably was somebody in the AA

I dont know what has been reported behind the paywalls, but Quinlan is definitely not convinced by Key's denial and the AJC hasn't retracted either.

Well, I don't know what to believe except that I think Key has at a minimum talked to Geoff Collins and GT simply because of his history with Collins. Whether or not he was actually interviewed, offered, or hired I guess we will have to wait and see but I don't buy the "nobody's called me" part unless he is being literal and all the contact was face to face or something.
