Unfortunately there are still several teams pursuing a top-line lefty, and now there is one less of those on the market. My guess is that Snell's deal drove up Fried's asking price. As to durability, Fried is a full year younger than Snell and has been able to make essentially the same number of starts as Snell in the past 4 seasons. He won't get Snell's deal due to not having anywhere near the swing and miss skill that Snell has, and also Fried has a QO attached to him. Fried could still go the Snell 2023 route and sign a short-term deal with an opt-out, thus avoiding the QO in the 2nd round of bidding next off-season, but he's gonna get paid quite handsomely.With the Dodgers signing Blake Snell, does that mean there is one less suitor for Fried?
