Not sure if wires are getting crossed on Fanning Center vs. Full Steam Ahead but we are at 52 now after the eastern portion of the Upper North was demolished along with Edge. We will be well under 52 in 2026 when seatbacks are in place and luxury seating has been renovated - that number has not been announced yet but I suspect it comes in somewhere in the low 40s.

Glad you’re not the owner of my business.
Good news is I retired a multi-miiionairre 18 months ago so your worries are over. The better news is that when I typed that comment things did not look good for GT Athletics. With the capital improvement money coming from the Institute things are looking up. The best news will be if we hear that we have found a landing spot that is worth a damn as opposed to being stuck in what will be a gutted ACC.

We'll be in the big 10. Us being scrappy and middle of the road helps us get that invite actually.

Wow, that low? On the one hand I realize the trend is to downsize in the name of better amenities, but low 40's seems awfully low. I guess we'll see how that plays out...

Can anyone post a recent photo of the Northeast corner, or is there really no change since the season began? I'd like to think with a road game yesterday and the bye week next they can make some hay on construction, but who knows...

Only from the lense of the past two weeks when we've played wihtout our Defensive Leader at MLB and wihtout our offensive leader. If we have efford on the field vs VT we probably don't give up at least one of those scores. If we have King we probably win anyway.
Yes! Don’t know what GT folks are so down and negative about this team. Do we not see them busting their butts on the field? They’re injured and broken but they’re in there slugging it out. Get those guys back and let’s finish strong. This group can do it.

Bias aside, I think we're a good bet for the B1G. We're desperate to get out of the ACC, the basketball program is mediocre, the football program is average, but the administration is rowing the same direction. Even though the Bobby Cremins era was a long time ago, it's proof that our major metropolitan city has no qualms getting behind the program if the team is winning. You can get us super cheap and we have massive potential. Contrast that with a Florida State who want you to pay out the nose for but have seen a massive decline in interest/attention in just one season.

GT is a value play for the major conferences, IMO.

We also have the potential to be a bidding war between the SEC and The bIg 10. The SEC because it keeps the big 10 from having GT. And state is no where near an expansion target. THey can spin it as us going back. uga would love for our game to be a conference game now. And the idea of having games in atlanta on rotating basis for the other schools is big. In the era of TV deals the SEC has tried to focus on shoring up their strongholds. (Adding GT and Clemson is the most likely play for them in this scenario.)

But the big 10 will really want us. Likley us and Miami. maybe Us Uva Miami and UNC. with the idea if they are expanding they might as well go for 24 instead of 20 and try to convince ND and probably Stanford to join. assumign ND gets AAU.

The Syracuse and Louisville losses still happened. This team’s best win right now is over 6-2 Duke, who is very likely to lose two more to close the season. Barring a big win against Miami or uGA it’s a very disappointing season. Simply beating a struggling NC State team whose QB just retired won’t change the perception much. But the Miami game sets up for Tech’s annual, “how did we do that?!?!” game. Maybe it’s time.

You have to factor in the injuries we’ve sustained on the season. This isn’t Xbox. Every time an injured player is forced to play or a less proficient player is substituted the efficiency of the system is attenuated. We’ve been doing this since the S’cuse game at most skill positions. Both King and Haynes have been battling injuries since early on, the RB depth has been a major issue all season, we’ve been short 2-3 TEs all year, and now Malik is hurt, too. It just all adds up over time and it becomes a major factor that you cannot ignore.

GT doesn’t have these guys stacked like chord wood, yet. We all saw what happened when tOSU lost their top WR against UGAg in 2022. Suddenly, they could barely move the ball.

Sadly this is football and every team in the history of the game has dealt with injuries. We knew in August we had a schedule against 11 FBS teams that made bowl games last season. In order to do anything special this year, we needed to stay one of the healthiest teams in college football and play to nearly our full potential every game. We had one dice roll and needed the double 6s to show up and didn't get it. For the people fretting: It's not worth getting really worked up about or letting it affect your blood pressure. This isn't the old ACC where you can go 5-1 in division and get a single game elimination chance at the title. We have to compete against the Atlantic division now too, plus 3 new teams, 1 of whom has made such a splash that they might make it to Charlotte in their first season.

I would like to see the ACC Championship eventually expand into a 4 team tournament. Program resource balance aside, winning the ACC Championship straight up feels infeasible in this 17 team era. You're not really even necessarily selecting the best 2 teams for the championship as it stands because the competitive balance is so far off with scheduling. I'm not saying we're better than SMU head-to-head, but we would be 3-1 with their schedule right now with Pitt coming to Bobby Dodd this Saturday, and then 3 extremely winnable games to close the season. That is basically the entire difference between 7-1/6-2 and the 4-4/3-5 we're staring at right now. See 2023 Louisville as well who almost rode their cakewalk schedule to a championship. They were such an average team that they lost to Kentucky at home and a Jordan Travis-less Florida State.

This is about what I expected this season. Injuries have hurt the past 2 games. We were an average FBS team last season and are an average FBS team this season. We have beaten 3 peer ACC teams and lost to 3 ACC peer teams. We have one more peer ACC team left on our schedule. That will be a challenging game as we do not have an overall talent advantage, NCST is a peer team. WE need a healthy King, Haynes and Efford for that game. Miami is not a peer team, they have far more talent than GT. 4-4 in Conference and 6-6 on the season would be good considering the injuries to our best offensive and defensive players for at least 2 games.
