Still blows my mind he's going the NCAAF route. Maybe it was to setup his son down the road, but he's giving up any shot at Shula's record.

I think he was disgusted that he was shunned during the interview processes last year - And, ultimately, he could, with decent health, be offered an NFL job in 2-3 years.

It will surprise me greatly if he has extreme success in this position, at a basketball school. But, from the NFL playoffs/super bowls, he is the GOAT.

Some of the stuff showing up in social media—including from journalists—looks questionable. Belichick has denied one rumor— The 400 page plan is getting denied.
The $20 million NIL in football would put UNC into the top 5 spenders (if any of the NIL collective info is accurate)
So, who knows what’s real?

Sounds like something a person with a 400 page football bible/manifesto would say.

Let me start out by saying I am a native of New Englander albeit transplanted years ago and a lifetime Patriots fan. I am grateful for the Pats run for years under Belichick and Brady and others. But Belichick has come unglued, both as an out of touch football coach, and in his personal life. In the spirit of full disclosure, I am 72 yrs old.

Belichick, is also age 72. And all the power to him as he is dating a 25 yr old woman for the past year. Creepy? Heck yes, big time creepy but hey, she is not my daughter or granddaughter. So it only makes sense he spends his final years as Big Man on Campus with a college campus of 18-25 yr old coeds. Though his 25 yr old hottie now has competition.
Yes, I don't see this ending well on all fronts. UNC keeps going to any length to run with the Clemson's and Alabama's on the football field. I am sure most of us recall their academic scandal of mostly football players taking bogus classes. Belichick is yet another example of Tar Heel desperation. Go JAckets, let's kick his butt!

Think Bill keeps our "Mr Money Ball" embarrassment Geoff Collins as his DC,.......Not!!

This one statement from that article speaks to the experiment we are about to see at UNC:
“Before he took the UNC job, Belichick went on ESPN’s ‘The Pat McAfee Show’ and said that if he were running a college program it would be ‘a pipeline to the NFL for players that had ability to play in the NFL.’”

Belichick gets 3-year deal to Coach UNC.

"Bill Belichick will become the next coach of the North Carolina Tar Heels, sources tell CBS Sports NFL Insider Jonathan Jones. The six-time Super Bowl champion, who has never coached at the collegiate level in any capacity, will take over the top coaching position on the open market."

"Belichick agreed to a three-year, $30 million deal, according to The Athletic. Previous coach Mack Brown was paid $5 million per season."

Not great news for GT. One more GT hurdle for recruiting. What kid will not want to play for a man who won 8 SBs.

Lol ok. Until they go 3-9 next year and 4-8 the year after.

Bill Bellichik has done nothing to show me he knows how to identify with a 19 year old kid. This theory that you just throw money around and win is such a joke. All of this will normalize in the next couple of years to something that actually makes sense. By the time that happens uNC will have yet another head coach (that probably still can’t beat Georgia Tech).

So Kirby is winning because he is a good coach? I think he is winning because he is throwing money around.

There appears to me that there is something he brings to the table that as of now in CFB is not easily obtained. CFB as we all know is drastically changing and the office staff and needs there have become really big. It appears to me one of the first to expand the workings of the office staff and functions was Saban and he IMO got that from his time with the pros. Kirby at UGA brought that to Athens from what I've heard and CBK brings it to us. Bellichik brings that to Chapel Hill. In CFB I just wonder if that is maybe a little difficult for some to put together as of now and UNC sees that Bellichik can establish that for them, CFB is becoming pro as we all know. Just a thought I had, not saying it is gospel. They get it all set up and then figure out who needs to be coach. Seems like I heard CBK say that he has had conversations with pros in dealing with the new CFB.

I agree with you Buzz. He will not tolerate playing 2nd fiddle to the BB program. He is used to being the top dawg, and unless the FB team gets into the CFB within 3 years, he might not get an extension of his contract.
Massaging 18-20 year old egos , may be too much. Saban was great for a time doing that, but we all know it’s only going to get worse from here. Should be interesting…
