This is a perfection definition of Hall’s tenure. He’ll go out a loser against Auburn and Georgia and he doesn’t even care. At the end of the season when we are bounced all that will be remembered isn’t us sweeping Cal or even getting bounced from the tournament. What everyone will remember is we are once again proven to be the little brother to Auburn and Georgia. And then we wonder why they out recruit us every year. Games like this are what 16 and 17 year olds care about in the south. Nobody wants to sign with a team that gets their crap kicked in every year whether it’s on a Friday or Tuesday. Oh, yeah, we swept Cal. Try selling that to a stud pitcher in Thomasville or Lawrenceville. I guarantee every loss to UGA costs us at least 2-3 recruits per year that are on the fence.

Of course the facts around baseball are nearly the opposite of what you write. Knowing this to be true, it makes me wonder if anything you write about other topics that I'm not as knowledgeable about should be believed. If you go by rankings (that's all I have available to me) Tech recruits out of high school better than either Auburn or UGa. I'm not incredibly familiar with Auburn's roster, but UGa's roster is HEAVILY tilted towards getting veteran players in the portal. Of their starters last night only Tre Phelps has been at UGa from day 1.

They are using the portal better than most right now. They seemed to have hit on the vast majority of transfer takes.
More importantly, they’ve hit on coaches. Kirby was no guarantee having had no prior HC experience. Same with Wes Johnson. Mike White may have been the most sure thing, but even he had plateaued at Florida and was taking over a program coming off a 6-26 season. Obviously it’s disgusting to watch as a Tech fan, but the alignment and commitment they’ve got in their athletic department/fanbase to excel in ALL sports and that they’re actually making it happen is no doubt impressive

Danny has done less with more than the avg bear. I'd compare him to St richt. Recruits pros to only disappoint yearly. Like one poster wrote great first 15 years lousy last 15.

Who cares where they get players. They whip us. Did you guys not see it? And if we outrecruit them all the time then why can’t we beat them? The bottom line is Hall did not play to win. We played as if that was a throwaway game. And now when Ramsey is sitting in the room with a player and the next day the UGA coach is sitting in that same room who has more pull? The coach who wins or the coach who has to explain his strategy of sitting his best pitchers.

You guys are just apologists for your guy instead of being GT fans first. I don’t care what you think about me. It’s a message board. Unless your buddy Hall wins the National Title at the end of the day when everyone is back home and the season is over our players will have to continue to hear how they don’t stack up to Auburn or UGA all because our coach didn’t respect his team enough to play the players who gave them a chance.

And hopefully that continues with whoever takes the reins from Hall. Say what you will about him, but Tech’s MLB pipeline the past 30 years under him is undeniable, which is why we have been able to out-recruit uga, Auburn, and other top baseball schools despite often underperforming as a team.

We need to quit comparing ourselves to UGA. It pains me to say it but UGA now has one of the top 3 programs in football, one of the top 25 programs in basketball and rising, one of the top 10 in baseball and rising. That’s a pretty tough comparison.

Recruits have $60M reasons why they would choose GT. This is one of them.

We are now 1-5 against top 15ish competition. This is who we will play in a super regional (if we make it out of regional). Although I agree that our pitching is better than in the past and I have been impressed with our performance in the ACC, based on the above, it seems our ceiling may be to make it out of regionals. This would exceed my personal expectations (from the start of the season) for this team. I hope we catch lightning in a bottle in mid May and go on a run, but until then I’ll just focus on enjoying the next win (or at least try to).

If you paid attention to the baseball forum at all, you'd know there aren't many CDH fans here.

That and your assessment of that game as a whipping tells me all I need to know. This feels like a troll job. Either that or you just don't follow much baseball.

You reference us recruiting and having less pull, yet when it's pointed out that we consistently out recruit them you ask who cares where they get their players.

They also threw midweek guys and treated the game every bit of the same way as we did. We had an off night hitting and are down two of out top hitter - one of which leads the country in WAR.

Again, stick to the football forum.

The last time we got to Omaha, I believe we won our regional and got lucky because the National Seed we were paired with got upset in their Regional and we were favored and won the Super-Regional. It’s baseball…you just never know. You can win 105 games and lose to a team you beat by 10 games in the regular season. Just get to the post season and see what happens.

We beat the College of Charleston. I remember being at that game and Whit Robbins hit a screaming line drive right at me and my family down the first base line. It hit the guy sitting behind us, unfortunately for him.

I count 1-4.

1-2 vs Clemson. 0-1 vs both Auburn and ugag.

The 4 losses have come by a combined 7 runs. Accounting for our 1 win, we've actually outscored them by 9 runs.

All 5 games have been without Schmidt and the two midweeks were without both he and the guy leading the country in WAR.

The only game of those that we weren't close to winning late in the game was last night's game.

Nope. Just a fan who has watched our coach lose game after game year after year to the SEC. UGA can throw mid week guys because their mid week guys are better than ours. It’s a bottom line business and UGA owns GT. The largest crowd of the season saw it and yet you act like it doesn’t matter. It does.

Let's hope that the reason we haven't played better in pressure games is that our team is mostly Fr and So and that they learn how to play better under pressure.

That said, good pitching usually beats good hitting. The uGag loss was due to not hitting; pitching and defense were fine.

Just win tomorrow. What will be will be. Like you, I just want to enjoy the ride.
