I wouldn't call it an exhibition. It counted towards the U.S. Open Cup, the oldest soccer competition in the United States. Atlanta United was knocked out of the tournament tonight. The winner of the U.S. Open Cup tournament automatically qualifies for the CONCACAF Champions League.

Yea. Another year where the higher ups say we are taking it seriously and then trot out the B team lineup. Yea we started LGP and almiron and after we were behind subbed on Barco and gressel but Chicago started their entire first team which showed they were actually taking it seriously. We’re putting our eggs in the supporter shield and MLS cup basket which technixallybthe supporters shielddoesn’t qualify you for the champion league automatically just the MLS cup.

However since Toronto can’t qualify for a US spot in the champions league next year their spot goes to team with best combined between 2017/2018 which we’d have to win supporters shield by I think 3-4 points over NYCFC to 100% lock up that spot.
