Having the Nationals lose is like getting a Bill passed through Congress.

Braves recently couldn’t beat that awful KC team in two games. Then the lowly Rockies yesterday, and now this sad bunch. Like Fred pointed out, a good record vs. the better teams.

Yep. 4-hit shutout to the O's. How I process that....
On one hand, it's baseball, can't win them all, it's only one game.... blah blah blah..
On other hand, this kind of game is exactly why winning division (avoid 1-game play-in/wildcard) is SO CRITICAL.

This weekend.... I will probably begin construction on my wildcard game pillow fort.... & I'll have to try out different fetal positions to find my "lucky" one. I know where this is going. :nailbiting:

  • The Braves recently signed lefty Tyler Matzek, who was previously with the Texas Airhogs of the independent American Association. Matzek’s a decade removed from going to the Rockies 11th overall in the 2009 draft, but it’s fair to say the once-hyped hurler hasn’t lived up to the promise he had as a prospect. While Matzek was relatively successful with the Rockies from 2014-15 – a 139 2/3-inning run in which he recorded a 4.06 ERA/4.12 FIP despite unimpressive strikeout and walk rates (6.83 K/9, 4.06 BB/9) – he hasn’t pitched in the majors since then. The control-challenged 28-year-old owns a 5.16 ERA with 8.9 K/9 and 5.6 BB/9 in 83 2/3 frames at the Triple-A level.

We had it going great 1--8. Now it is just the other way around; which could lead to wild card. I don't think that will happen, but as of now by losing to some not so good teams this could take place. It is really disappointing when we get bases loaded and our best hitters can't get it done! I will watch one more game live and if we lose then I will wait to see who wins to see if I watch it. Poor Soroka, he could have 18 wins by now!!!!!!
