So educate me, baseball guys. Are the Braves just a regular season team? Seems opposing fanbases think the Braves will falter in postseason play due to lack of elite starting pitching.

Offensively, as expected, they don't seem to fare as well against other teams' top-line starters which is basically all they'll see in the postseason.

Thoughts?

I think the Braves will win the NLDS 3-1 over the Cardinals and will lose to the Dodgers 4-2 in the NLCS.

They do have good starters. Elite? Probably not yet. Soroka will be one in the future. Fried might always be that back-end of the rotation guy. Keuchel and Folty are the keys for this staff. Tehran might get the long man assignment vs. an LA or Cubs.

Hitting: T.B.D. It would help a lot to get a professional hitter like Kakes back. Need McCann. Guys like Inciarte, Riley are key. They could round our lineup if they get hot. They’ve been hot/cold during spells. A guy like Albies could turn into a Lemke and give us that extra pop in a series.

You are right on KG01, with the premise that good pitching shuts down good hitting.
The new dynamic is getting into a team’s bullpen. Braves need to get 7 out of the starters, instead of this 5 or 6 stuff during the regular season.

I think a lot hinges on Folti-kowski :)D). He seems to have the raw ability of a top-line starter, just lacks the mentals(sic). If he puts it all together, he could be huge for them. Bigly even.

Keuchel? I'm swiping left on him (wait ..'left' means you don't like, right?). Totally agree on Teheran's postseason role. Kinda make him what the Toussant guy used to be?

Hitting-wise, also agree on MarKansas being important. But to me, the reason he's important is the same reason I don't want to see Riley in the postseason.

I agree KG01, on Riley. If he’s not going to hit, Inciarte for defense and speed. We need a third OF. Acuna, Kakes and ?

Man alive, I love the bearded guy we are going to see today. Played at GT. Think he goes by Chaaleyy or Blackmon. Dude can rake....and you don’t have to have a lawn for him:lock:

According to the AJC, Dansby will be back with the team today !!
I think this is huge, as Heck (sp?) has done a good job filling in especially on defense, we need the old Dansby back.
Starting pitching and pitching in general has been awesome, hitting is still spotty IMO, thank goodness for Donaldson !
Don't know the reason for the black/white uniform thing and I hate the black uni's, but if we keep winning I'm all for them ... (sic)
Oh, and Thank You Cubbies ... for nothing !!

True. If not Inciarte, give me the platoon with the one guy that was an all-star and that new fast guy who can't really hit as a defensive replacement. Heche-verylongname in Camargo's former role now that Dansberry is back.

He’s my love crush! I’m a straight man. Nothing wrong with gay life, to each their own. I just cannot switch teams. Milwaukee understands the affair, he has dibs on his man crush, Acuna:p

I will confess to taking up switch-hitting in baseball:). Playing K-Land in Miami in 1964, I started perfecting my lefty swing because Korey League was next. We moved to Atlanta after that, been here ever since. Pleasantdale Athletic Assoc. for three years, never lost a game. Captain. Babe Ruth League....then N.Fulton HS in Buckhead, Pro. Tryout Camp...then GSU.

It's ok. I'm as straight as an arrow, but I have unclean thoughts about Donaldson. Hehe :D
