If the Braves go 20-21 from here on out, they will finish the regular season at 91-71. Last year, 90-72 won the Division.

The partially torn right LCL that sent Braves third baseman/corner outfielder Austin Riley to the injured list last week will not require surgery, Mark Bowman of MLB.com was among those to report. Now that his season will continue, Riley’s hoping to start a minor league rehab assignment two weeks from now, according to Bowman.

Doctors are saying that Dansby Swanson cannot play through his type of injury.
There is still no timetable for his return.

I think the Braves will finish the season 98-64;)
I think you are right on it. Teams out of the race either partially quit or psychologically do, which typically increases the haves from the have nots this time of year in baseball. Even if they only go 25-16, that’s 96-66, which would be difficult to catch.

The Braves per the words of Alex Anthopoulos will keep scouring any releases that come about. The Reds have just recently picked up two veterans off the waiver wire.

Before last night Joyce saw his average dip under .250. Duvall has been sinking right around that same batting mark. Ender has pulled up to the .238 range yesterday, which is good because on July 19/20 he briefly dipped under .200 which is more difficult hitting low in the order.

Ortega was hitting .285 at AAA, however not a power hitter. Here are his unimpressive MLB numbers:

Good news ... Quality start by Fried, he has been consistent and looks like the duo with Soroka will be formidable in the post-season.
Good news ... The top of the order has been on fire, 9 hits by our top five hitters last night !
Bad News ... Greene's stat line, 0.1 Innings Pitched, 2 Hits, 2 Earned Runs. Current ERA = 14.54.

Shane Greene is one of the worst trades the Braves have ever made:grumpy::sour:

Nats. sign Greg Holland.

It was mentioned by YJF2018 last night that Max Fried didn’t have his good stuff. I agree with not only yesterday through his 100 pitches, but on a few other occasions.
He has learned how to pitch to overcome those issues on game day. Folty could use a little more of that compensating, because stuff isn’t always on and adjustments have to be made on the spot, in the game. He(Fried)credits Reggie Smith being in the organization as his mentor, a friend since childhood. His ERA is right at 4.00, so it proves you can win consistently by limiting damage, staying within yourself with poise and listening.
