Beginning of the year, I thought they had a good shot at a wild card berth. With Philly loading up in the off-season, the Phillies looked like the favorite.
The Braves have really excelled this year

There's a lotta dudes that should be sharing this plate of crow. Pretty sure @YellowJacketFan2018 is one. :p
I’m a crow eater, too! I had the Braves in the middle of the division. Not to make an excuse, because I was wrong....other than a hot Washington team after 19-31, the East is not that strong. Other than LA, the NL is not as strong as the AL.

Probably opening up a nest of YellowJackets. Have at me guys.

I agree and disagree with you. The AL has more elite teams, but they also have more bottom feeders. The NL is like the ACC Coastal. There are a lot of teams with a chance to sneak into the playoffs by way of the wildcard. There is a lot more parody in the NL which leads to the mediocre records.

I agree with both of you.

The bottom line ... as fans of NL teams...
If you are a division winner, you have to to go 7-5 (or better) thru NLDS/NLCS to get to world series. If you are a wild card team... its 8-5.

My Nationals (& I think you'd agree... same for Braves)... they just don't have a bullpen to pull that off when compared to Dodgers. The 2 things I'm holding out hope for is:
1) The postseason schedule will allow for resting top end bullpen guys & the rotation will be 3 guys (good for Nats)... not 4.
2) It's baseball... you have to play the games. Crazy happens.

Here are some odds on postseason. Definitely is Dodgers in NL & several AL teams ahead of rest of NL.

Adam Duvall was 0-5 w/ 4 K’s. In a mini-slump now. Steady diet of breaking balls. That’s what she said.

Ender Inciarte, word has away, away, he will chase! I don’t know why he doesn’t bunt more? Especially hitting 9th the last few nights.

The Braves are still unsure as to when Dansby Swanson will return:banghead: I think the Braves weren't being totally honest about how bad Dansby Swanson's ankle is-was injured:rolleyes:

Although Charlie had a great game yesterday with two gigantic defensive plays late in the game, the Braves are really missing both Dansby and Markakis ... is Markakis wrist season-ending ??
Camargo and Duvall are worrisome as day-to-day starters, it's amazing how Duvall went from hitting everything to hitting nothing seemingly overnight ??
Amazed by Folty's start, I was thinking it was going to be another disaster, I hope he's found "it" again, would be a huge lift for the starting rotation ...
Although it seems like we are hanging on by a thread, we are still up 6/7 games on the Nats/Phillies respectively.

I don't think Nick Markakis will be back in 2019 and we will see him next in 2020 Spring Training:cigar:

They are now expecting Kakes to rehab. in September and play in a few games prior to the end of the regular season. Electro stimulation on the faster track.

Duvall isn’t going to see fastballs down the middle, even on counts he’s ahead in.
See: Austin Riley. Adam is a lifetime .233 hitter. We rode the hot streak until the pitchers caught up.
