Braves and Nationals tied 1-1 in the 1st inning on a Juan Soto homer
I'm ready for him to be gone and it's too bad he'll be back for the 2020 season1. You are on target. Fred wants him resigned, probably more than he wanted Harper?
2. Flowers claims he’s in a funk. Talks about how this is equivalent to a hitter with a high leg kick. Lots of moving parts. I never caught an inning, so I have no idea what’s going on. Putting on a catchers mitt and 1B glove, I don’t know how they catch a cold.
I totally agree, Rendon seems like a really good guy.
Not an expert, but I caught in HS. What I have seen from Flowers is a times his mitt is positioned wrong to block pitches in the dirt or off the plate. at times even swiping at the ball = big no-no !
Also, again at times he doesn't shift his body to get in front of the ball instead just reaching out = big no-no !
I like Flowers, but ...
Byrd's son is a good college player right now... Clemson. What you're describing jives with something they pointed out on one broadcast.
His footwork was opposite where his pitch location indicated it should be. Like he basically set his body up in a way that required him to reach back to get the ball. And he was off balance in the first place. Ended up a passed ball with bases loaded which, of course, scored a run. That don't seem like a slump. That seem like a dumb play.
The Byrd guy was the one who broke that down. He clearly wanted to call Flowers out. I like this Byrd guy. Very informative. Good contrast with the main announcer guy who I hate with an unadulterated passion.
It always seems like Chip Carey and Paul Byrd get more excited about the other team than about the BravesByrd's son is a good college player right now... Clemson.
I liked the way Paul pitched, not only here, but all of his stops. He stayed within himself. Never threw hard. Placement. Changed speeds. Got the most out of his talent. A pitcher, not a thrower.Byrd's son is a good college player right now... Clemson.
