1. You are on target. Fred wants him resigned, probably more than he wanted Harper?
2. Flowers claims he’s in a funk. Talks about how this is equivalent to a hitter with a high leg kick. Lots of moving parts. I never caught an inning, so I have no idea what’s going on. Putting on a catchers mitt and 1B glove, I don’t know how they catch a cold.
I'm ready for him to be gone and it's too bad he'll be back for the 2020 season:grumpy:

Thanks for enlightening us Jake! Catcher questions going to you, now that we know how “brave” you are. Lol.

Wasn’t Flowers an OF or 1B when they had him in the lower minor leagues, originally? I’m not making excuses for him. We’ve got another year of him, unless we eat it. I’m not at “Liberty” to say, if we will ever eat again.

I totally agree, Rendon seems like a really good guy.
Not an expert, but I caught in HS. What I have seen from Flowers is a times his mitt is positioned wrong to block pitches in the dirt or off the plate. at times even swiping at the ball = big no-no !
Also, again at times he doesn't shift his body to get in front of the ball instead just reaching out = big no-no !
I like Flowers, but ...

What you're describing jives with something they pointed out on one broadcast.

His footwork was opposite where his pitch location indicated it should be. Like he basically set his body up in a way that required him to reach back to get the ball. And he was off balance in the first place. Ended up a passed ball with bases loaded which, of course, scored a run. That don't seem like a slump. That seem like a dumb play.

The Byrd guy was the one who broke that down. He clearly wanted to call Flowers out. I like this Byrd guy. Very informative. Good contrast with the main announcer guy who I hate with an unadulterated passion.

Hey Fred, underneath all of that sunscreen;
Buddy we’ve got a guy to challenge Patrick Corbin in the windmill dunk competition for hoops. His name is Chris Martin, tall and thin. Although we better hurry, our guy is only here for a few more months. You hit the proverbial jackpot with PC.

Byrd's son is a good college player right now... Clemson.

Hope the Braves don’t regret leaving these baserunners on.
Since Memorial Day, best record in baseball? Nats. 38-19. This month, 15-9.
Astros get Martín Maldonado for Tony Kemp.
