Dayton sent down? All he did was strike out the side every time they used him. What a waste, leaving Blevins up here.

That was the 16th homer for Contreras. Hopefully his brother will turn out just as good with the Braves.

The Braves need to trade for another starter along with trading Julio Teheran for whatever they can get for him
Totally agree. Might not be a better time to deal Teheran, and no way they resign him at what he is making this season or will want. Folty by the end of next season if he can get reformed, unless he takes to closing. Gausman, let him play out and take the draft pick. I can’t believe Duval has 20 HR’s and nobody needs him? We will be selling so low on Inciarte, might as well keep him for September. Might get his value back up again.

When the Cubs are playing well, games at Wrigley are pretty scary ... I'm hoping for a split !
The voice of reality and wisdom. Before last night, I thought we could easily take three from them by looking at their record and the starting matchups. Julio just didn’t have it, although Sobotka was Sabot-ok.

We are not getting Riley King, so the only unsigned Draft Picks are: 18, 23, 35, 36, 38, 39. Those last four are not going to command high bonus money & have little bargaining power. That’s why Atlanta went out and signed almost a half dozen free agents, not draftable.

  • Tucker Davidson. 1.61 Southern League (AA) ERA, which leads the entire league. 13 starts, 67 innings pitched. 72 strikeouts and a 1.21 WHIP.
    • The drawback here is his control: 32 walks in those 67 innings.
    • However, in his last several starts, the walk totals are coming down: 12 in his last 37.1` innings.
  • Ian Anderson. 3.20 ERA for Mississippi. Almost 79 innings, 15 starts, 99 K, 41BB, 1.28 WHIP.
  • Kyle Muller. Virtually the same numbers as Anderson: few more walks, few less strikeouts.
  • Jasseel De La Cruz. Not likely given that he’s already been rocketing through the system this year, but his control is a notch better than the above pitchers while maintaining similar numbers at the AA level.

Good news on Mike Soroka and his injured forearm: X-rays were negative. Atlanta might skip his turn if only to error on the side of caution and help keep his innings down. All-Star break coming up too!

I know nothing about baseball but even I know what the Cubs just did was dumb AF.

Eta. Bases loaded, one out. Missed squeeze play, man on 3rd caught in rundown, gets out. Man on 2nd breaks for 3rd, thrown out. Inning over.

To top it all off, man on 3rd might've been safe had they chosen to review it.
