This guy’s had probably more frustration than he can bear since his freshman year at Florida. I don’t blame him with cases on the rise for wanting to protect his family too. He’ll come back focused and ready to wreck shop next fall, and Jordon Dominick will be right there with him!

The combination of getting screwed by the NCAA, injuries, the daily grind of football and touch academics, and a young child would drive me crazy. I hope he can get his head and body right and tear up the ACC next year!

This is good for both AC and the team. Gives Clayton a much needed break to regather himself and also gives the coaches more opportunities to play younger guys more like Ivey and kennard

Dude deserves a break. It will be good for him. There have been alot of players opting out the last few weeks across the country for a variety of reasons. Personally I don't see it as a bad thing. This year had to be hard for nearly everyone.

I hope and pray this young man finds some serious success. If it be in the NFL that would be wonderful. If it be in the workforce, then that is great too. He has been through a lot of stress the past 4 years chasing his dreams. Adversity either makes you or breaks you. I think this young man is being molded for some GREAT things in life.

Because he's being open and honest with his coaches and teammates instead of playing them like a fiddle saying he will or will not play.

Much better and more respectable to be upfront and honest about this.

If ever there was a year to take a break and focus on mental health, it’s this year. He said he put his mental health on hold because he wanted to be a good role model, but I think he’s being a better role model now by taking his mental health seriously. Sometimes the strongest thing a man can do is admit that he needs help carrying the load.

Concerns about mental, or even physical, health do count, and they count more than playing a game.

I'm glad Clayton made this decision to get himself straight. This is sooooo much more important then football, especially when family relationships are affected. I hope he can get the help he needs and come back strong next year. But I really hope he gets the help he needs and recovers, football to no football. That's what counts.

Mental health is a sneaky often hidden massive challenge that is under reported and under appreciated. It’s like an iceberg - oooh look at the pretty ice...when 85% of it is drowning under the surface.
