I hadn’t read the rules for the bounce, but it looks like it’s treated the same way as an onside kick or a squib—ball is live as soon as it hits the groundThanks, don’t know that I’ve read the new KO rules.

You are correct on the kickoff rule. If the return man calls for a fair catch but the ball hits the field first it is down once a player touches the ball at the spot where the player touches the ball.I think They ruled that he signaled for fair catch, but since he failed to catch it, it is down where he possessed it.
I honestly could not see the signal (and I haven’t gone back to rewatch this one) but it struck me as odd that he would have signal since we have not done that all year!
Yes. He should have just come up and let the ball go over his head into the end zone. "I'm sorry! I didn't see it!" This particular brand of Italian soccer is played all the time. Singleton's problem is that he's too honest.Singelton waved his arm while he was in the EZ. It was clear he was calling for a fair catch. I believe he thought the ball was going to come to him around the goal line but miss judged the flight of the kick. Once he called for the FC he was screwed not catching the ball on the fly.
I think you have to actually catch it to get it on the 25Yeah, that play completely confuse dme. I thought if you called for a fiar catch then you got it on the 25 no matter where you caught it. Is that wrong? Thge play was whisteled dead the moment he caught the ball, he wasn’t tackled at the 4...
The ball bounced short of the EZ and was not going in, that was the issue.Yes. He should have just come up and let the ball go over his head into the end zone. "I'm sorry! I didn't see it!" This particular brand of Italian soccer is played all the time. Singleton's problem is that he's too honest.
The problem was the ball hit the ground around the 4 yard line so the ball was not going over his head. He made a mistake, it happens. Fortunately that was our 10;35 minute drive so it didn't hurt us.Yes. He should have just come up and let the ball go over his head into the end zone. "I'm sorry! I didn't see it!" Moved up to #30.
Any ranking with the mutts at the top (that isn't a measure of how many should be in jail) is assumed wrong.
