I've sometimes seen Miami called "University-7", but never figured out where that moniker came from. Can anyone shed some light on it?

Apparently, “University-7” was the placeholder name before the “University of Miami” name was official.

Or the one I always use for VT: the Turkies. This has the virtue of being an exact description. And it's "da U" for Miami.
