Who remembers sitting in the old south endzone (the horseshoe) that felt like you were a mile from the field?

For the younguns on the board, the track (rat track) actually ran under the old north stands. On games day, the put bleachers on the track in front of the student section for the freshmen (rats) to sit.
"Rats on the field, rats on the field, rats on the field....."
The lower east stands were covered partially by the upper east. If you were unlucky, your seat was behind a giant column. Also, from under there, you lost sight of punts as the went up, then came down. Ah, the memories....
