UCLA wins on a walk off hbp that was very questionable. 2nd questionable call if the inning.

Watched 7 of the 11 innings of that game and I dont know how you give that team the 1 seed over us.
Still not sure how they didn’t overturn that call at 3rd. The ball was clearly in the glove before the base moved, and you could see it clearly on 2 angles. Really not sure what else they needed to call him out.

And yeah, the hbp was very questionable but there was nothing there to overturn it. Also the catcher didn’t react.

I 100% agree with you that we look like a much better team than them. They have been scraping by lately.

Agree that the play at 3rd was likely an out.

If they get the #1 seed it will purely be because D1 and other blogs started them there in the preseason and never dropped them because of the “can’t drop if you win your series” unwritten rule. If you could give the selection committee amnesia so they never saw any rankings and everything was based on the end-of-season objective metrics and game film they watched, I don’t think there’s any chance we don’t come out of that evaluation as the #1 team

I believe you are spot on.

If the SEC does not deserve 12 (D1B's latest projection) SEC teams in the tournament. Don't we want that 11th/12th team in Atlanta? ...over a mid-major who does 'deserve' being in? Maybe it is not the same folks... but I get the sense we all agree the middle of the SEC is overrated; but when one gets projected to be in our regional, we complain about how that is a bad deal?

[Yes... this is a little trollie... my apologies... killing time until noon]

Bring them on! This team deserves to face off against the best.

That's exactly how I feel. This team is better (by quite a bit) than any team that will be coming to Atlanta. Does not mean Ga Tech could not run into a shutdown starter and then stumble a 2nd time. That would be awful. But that has nothing to do with "who" ends up in the regional.

I want all the talking heads to talk about how our regional is stacked, how we got shafted somehow.

I don't want some #2 in our regional that faltered down the stretch. I don't want some team that lost a key player or two. Please don't give us teams from the bush league conferences. We need to knock off 2 sec teams on the way to Omaha. I also really don't want some team where their fans don't show up. Russ Chandler needs to be rocking.

Ideally mutt would be the #15 seed and we'd get them in the super regionals. Failing that give us a&m, tex, etc. Just make sure it's the best team that's left. We need to beat them all.

d1b's last projection came out this morning and they moved Auburn to the 4 spot and dropped UNC to 5. They had UNC at 4 yesterday and Auburn didn't even make the SEC championship game. I didn't watch the stream (and don't want to at this point - I'll just wait til 12). Does anybody know how they explained this?

Decatur, from your post, I am assuming that you clearly don't know which league Auburn is from. No explanation is required in these cases. ;)
