Any time you feel froggy, kg01. 😛

Many times I’ve turned down jobs for more money because it wasn’t the right timing, didn’t like the culture, the location, etc. There are good reasons to turn down money.
I agree there are definitely times to turn down the money. But what if the kid actually likes the place where he’s being offered a lot of money, too.

This is a big one:

I know kids don’t think like me, but I’d just be like…if I win at least 9 games again at this place, break some more records, I’ll go down as one of the best ever at Duke, and they might build a statue….

But now, he’ll prob go somewhere like Mizz or Arky, go 7-5 and never be thought of again, just like all the other mid Qs they’ve had.

This is not a long term career decision. Its two years tops. I can put up with a less than ideal situation for a year or two for the right money, as long as I believe it still sets up for the next step in my career goals. So if a coach or a school I don't like offers me a substantial raise and gives me the opportunity to showcase my talent then it would be hard to pass up.

And yes singleton had a few drops, Rutherford had some really costly drops as well, I would prefer neither leave. Drops are part of the game. Ask ugas receivers...

UGA lead the country in dropped passes and are in the playoffs. I will will repeat my opinion that WRs in the college game are the most replaceable bodies on the field. Singleton nor Rutherford will be the reason Tech makes a playoff run. Keep feeding the trenches.

I know there’s some reason I should not care but something about this bothers me when a player is so critical to a team’s success that their leaving actually destabilizes the whole team. I’m not blaming any particular player for finding greener pastures but I hate to see things that have been carefully built up suddenly destroyed. It reminds me of historians who write about the collapse of civilizations. Institutional decline depresses me for some reason.

I tend to agree. Unless you're a Calvin Johnson/Julio Jones/AJ Greene/Ja'Marr Chase type WR, you're replaceable. Singleton is good to very good, but he's not on the irreplaceable tier. Every WR that has portal'ed out of GT the past few seasons was quickly replaced by the next man up. Give me a very good OL and an elite QB, which I think GT will have both of, and we'll be more than fine.

Just an FYI, Malik Rutherford was actually our leading WR in terms of catches, had the same amount of receiving TDs, and 84 yards less in receiving yardage. This offense will, especially with a healthy QB situation, will create productive WRs.

No that was fake post. He’s stay at home and honest wouldn’t want him. There’s actually a Kent State WR Chrishon McCray that we offered that seems to be pretty good. I would check him out.
My bad, I took what ESPN reported at face value instead of researching it out lol

I am pretty sure that almost every weekend, some expert commentator says "If you can run the ball and stop the run, you have a chance to win every game."

Even the most elite WRs don’t really change the game that drastically. The Bengals are 5-8 with Chase. Calvin played on the 0-16 Lions..UGA WRs couldn’t create separation this year because they couldn’t run the ball. They still have extremely talented players at the position.
