I started out hopeful but tea leaves look like an @#$ing disaster right about now...plus the ones we lose this spring.I have a feeling we’ll have a net gain from the portal this year, let’s let it play out
based on history, this is probably why it won't happen unfortunately. As the adage says, the more things change, the more they stay the same. Or the Who put it thusly - meet the new boss, same as the old boss.I think a salary cap of sorts being implemented across CFB will help out mid-tier programs
Some of yall need to step back from the edge, trust our coaching staff a littleI started out hopeful but tea leaves look like an @#$ing disaster right about now...plus the ones we lose this spring.
I'd take this guy as a rush end. Before anyone says "He's not big enough...", Romello Height is 6'3 240.
On the other hand, the salary cap used to be 0 but teams paid under the table. So history shows us a salary cap will only limit those that don't cheat.based on history, this is probably why it won't happen unfortunately. Doesn’t this just devolve back into midnight duffel bag drops on front porches by the factories for whatever they need over the cap?I think a salary cap of sorts being implemented across CFB will help out mid-tier programs like GT the most. This is what the revenue sharing deal helps establish, but NIL boosters paying money is still the Wild West.
If we can get the investment and cash to match a salary cap each year, it comes down to efficiency of spreading out the cash rather than who has unlimited piles of cash like the $EC.
Filing a lawsuit is a lot different than winning a lawsuitLawyers would just file a lawsuit. NCAA tried to limit it to one transfer without sitting but had to sit out a year on the next. UNC filed a lawsuit for Tes Walker and he played. It was at least his 3rd school and maybe his 4th. UNC claimed it was affecting his mental health. LOL.
The whole thing is now just a money grab. Maybe Height didn't want to play in a bowl game but likely shopping for money. Could be some tampering but no way to prove or enforce. Sorry he is leaving. Good player.
It is not always about whether the credits will transfer, but rather whether they will count towards the degree at the new school. I doubt they are keeping the same majors. Especially if they are transferring from Tech.If you don’t change majors it’s easier to get GT transfer credits to count toward degree requirements at most other schools than the other way around.
This. Plus they have to pay SS, Federal, and State taxes.Just make them employees already, allow for collective bargaining, and put them on multi year contracts with penalties for transferring before three years. This crap has to be reined in soon or it will kill the sport.
Blasphemous...Ole Miss would NEVER tamper...
