So, CFP ranked teams 5, 7, 9, 14, 15, 16, and 19 all lost today. That’s B1G, SEC, SEC, B12, SEC, B12, and Indy.

Anyone else see a trend?

They’d have to win the CG if they get there. If they don’t and the CG loser gets in, then that would be two 2-loss ACC teams. Kirkie is already setting the narrative against that happening.
I had to mute one of the games today because I got tired of hearing how the SEC is a tough conference top to bottom. When ACC teams beat each other it’s because we’re bad. With SEC it’s a sign of strength.

On a related note, Clemson looks like they have evolved into a very different team than the one that lost to uga at the beginning of the year. I think they would win that game today.

Lotta Miami+SMU picks in there. Indiana may have knocked the Big 10 out of 4-team land. Too bad Penn St keeps pulling crap out.
In fact all 12 of them have Miami & SMU in. Pleasantly surprised. 1 even had Clemson in at the expense of Indiana (don’t agree with that unless Clemson beats SCar by 40 and Indiana struggles mightily vs 1-10 Purdue).

Obviously a lot can change during rivalry week, but 2 ACC teams in would be a nice win for the conference, and hopefully one of them could make some noise

Dawgs are headed to the SEC Championship game to win another piece of hardware. This likely means they need to win 1 of the next 2 games to make the playoffs - hopefully the win comes from the SEC Championship game and not from next Friday in Athens. I'd take a 2 game losing streak preferably though.
uga loses next friday and then in the SEC championship to go to an also-ran bowl and then watch from home.

Probably a bunch of 3 loss SEC teams
Texas, UGAg, and UT are the only 3 SECheat teams left with less than 3 losses. You see here how many teams will have to be jumped for 3-loss SECheat teams to be selected. How many will get shafted this season to feed that troll?

My Sunday morning thoughts regarding the CFP:

It would be interesting if:
A&M beats Texas and uga, pushing the dogs out of the CFP
uga loses to GT and the SEC champ (Texas or A&M), pushing the dogs to a mid-December Bowl
Tennessee loses to Vandy
SC loses to Clemson
Indiana loses or struggles against Purdue
Boise loses to Colo St and Army beats Tulane for the AAC championship

If ND loses @ USC, who does this help?

My CFP prediction:
Oregon
Ohio St
Penn St
uga
Texas
Tenn
Miami
SMU
AZ St
Boise St
ND
Indiana

My fears:
uga and Tenn both lose and open the discussion about a 4th SEC team (with 3 losses) in the CFP (after all, it is the SEC)
ND loses (and/or Indiana plays poorly against Purdue) and opens the door for Bama and/or Ole Miss (would they get the invite over Clemson?)
Miami loses to Cuse and SMU loses to Cal

The only CFP locks are:
Oregon
Ohio St
Penn St

Isn’t Texas also a lock? If they lose to TA&M, they sit home from the SEC championship and punch their ticket with 2 losses. And if they beat A&M, they go to Atlanta with at worst a two loss record with two losses to Uga. I could be missing something

I agree that Texas is very likely to be in the CFP. When I said "locks" I meant there is no scenario where a team could be left out.

Could Texas get pummeled by A&M next week? Or by uga in the CG after uga loses to GT? Weird stuff happened yesterday, so don't necessarily expect status quo next week.
