I went through the hypothetical where uga beats Tenn and A&M beats Texas. If Tenn beats uga and Vandy they are in the CG. Whichever team wins the A&M/Texas game is in (assuming they win their other conference games). It gets sticky if uga beats Tenn and Texas beats A&M. uga, A&M, Bama, Miss, Tenn, Missouri, & LSU could all be tied for 2nd. This is essentially the same scenario as I went through before with A&M beating Texas. To repeat, if they win their other games, the winner of the A&M/Texas game is in the CG. The loser falls into the group with two losses. Tenn is in the CG if they beat uga and Vandy.

Assuming all these teams win the games where they will be solid favorites, this is all that could happen if my view of it is correct. I do not see a likely scenario where LSU gets to the CG. It would take some huge upsets.

The 1st tiebreaker rule is "Head-to-head competition among the tied teams." They do not have to play every tied team for this rule to apply.

They do have to play every tied team for the Head-to-head to be applied. If the tied teams all play each other then it goes by winning percentage among the tied teams. If one team played all of the other teams and won all of those games, they advance. If one of the teams played all of the other teams and lost all of those games, they are eliminated.

A. Head-to-head competition among the tied teams
1. If there is a complete round robin, meaning all tied teams played each other:
a. If one team has sole possession of the best record among the tied teams,
that team is selected for the championship game
i. If two tied teams remain, they will return to the beginning of the
two-team tiebreaker procedures for second place
ii. If more than two tied teams remain, they will return to the
beginning of the three-team (or more) tiebreaker procedures for second place
b. If two teams are tied for the best record within the round robin standings,
they are both selected for the championship game
c. If three or more teams are tied for the best record within the round robin
standings:
i. Those teams revert to the beginning of the three-team (or more)
tiebreaker procedures for first place; and
ii. Any teams that do not have the best record within the round robin
standings are eliminated from contention in the Conference Championship Game
2. If there is not a complete round robin among the tied teams:
a. If one team beat all the other tied teams, it is selected for the
championship game, and the other remaining teams return to the start of
the tiebreaker procedures for second place
b. If one team lost to all the other tied teams, it is eliminated and the other
teams return to the start of the applicable tiebreaker procedures, unless
there are only two teams remaining, in which case they are both selected
for the championship game
c. If no team either beat all the other tied teams or lost to all the other tied
teams, all the tied teams advance to the next tiebreaker procedure

I stand corrected. I interpreted the rule differently on my first look, but I was wrong.

Only 2 games involving the top 25 where both are ranked: UGAg-UT and Mizzou-USCe. All SECheat.

I may go quail hunting.

Of course I never pull for uga, but there will be a measure of satisfaction if they beat Tennessee and create chaos at 2nd place in the SEC.

My 93 year old neighbor was just moved to Hospice. He is a USCe and NC State grad and wonderful man. I will be watching that game with him this afternoon and making sure he has nothing but loud cheers when Carolina scores. He was a EE with a minor in physics. You might enjoy reading this short bio.

Sorry to hear about hospice… I glossed over that part when reading the first time.
Incredible guy! Makes me feel especially lazy this morning!
I’m fascinated by boat building. How awesome… where did he find all of these hours in his day?

Retired from Bell Labs @ 55, so he has been "out of work" for 38 years!

Slightly (pleasantly) surprised that the “we should’ve gone hard for Deion” discussion hasn’t started back up this year. Not sure it’s sustainable for Colorado though anyway.

Clemson complaining about correct, albeit delayed, roughing the QB call against Clemson. So not getting caught is the same as innocent, forget ethics, officials are incompetent.

“At that time, it appeared as if the officials' incompetence would doom the Tigers. Though there was obviously an infraction by the Tigers, after no call was made, there should have been no reason for the referees to then drop a flag”
